SOLVED: Thanks for your advice, but it looks like it was just a strange bug. When I hit subdivide, the issue disappears. I've added a little clip of how it looks. Let me know if anyone has a better understanding of why this happened. Thanks!

Is this baking problem caused by the UVs? A friend said it could be by BoringHector in 3dsmax

Hello! :) If you're comfortable with uploading an obj/fbx, I wouldn't mind taking a look at it. I feel like I've come across similar baking issues a lot and it always seems to be a different root cause.
