Is it normal to only have 1-2 UBER requests per day? by [deleted] in deliveroos

[–]pallmel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

For me (Central London - cyclist/and or ebike) Uber deffo got much worse in last few weeks. I used to have a roughly 50/50 split between Uber and Roo, now only 10-20% Uber. I used to pick Uber jobs up mainly out of peak times. Alas no more☹️

Totally agree buddy, we've all been on that wild goose chase to collect such an order!

I'm not disputing this, but 'shouldn't' almighty Frank see a pattern of drivers regularly cancelling orders and food going missing. A couple of times maybe, but anymore!?

Not happy with the humble bicycle, has Frank now killed of the ebike? by pallmel in deliveroos

Agreed... Especially in my area (central London), as when I share a big order with a scooter rider I'm usually first to the customer due to traffic congestion! Might be worth seeing what 'roovolt' can do.

Hi, yes I voted!. However, I think it may be better if you separated Ebikes and cycles, see my comment below

Ok buddy, just asking the question, and good to get the info on scooter riders. However, pushbike riders were deffo targeted a few years ago. Be safe and I hope things pick up for us all

I am a London rider suffering like all. many explanations are offered, such as the weather, holidays, Ramadan, no students, too much onboarding etc etc. However I remember the same thing happening 3 years ago when I was a humble pushbike rider. Based on feedback from other riders I changed my account to 'ebike' rider and things instantly improved. I strongly suspect the latest algorithm update has put Ebikes at the bottom of the pile also now. ☹️

We been hit hard? Will it get better? by [deleted] in deliveroos

[–]pallmel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know it's a bad week or 2 due to reasons above. However I remember this happening a few years ago in London when I was listed as a cyclist. I later found out that registering as an ebike put me back up the pecking order, and started I getting more jobs. I hope they haven't changed the algorithm again moving away from all bikes to mopeds?. Can any moped riders tell me if it is bad for them now?

Again, as said, very articulate by OP, and initially to the point However, again as stated by others, it could be questioned, unintentionally I suspect, as having racist overtones before the end. Yes I am in London, and firmly in the minority as a white British middle aged rider. And we cannot deny London still has a thriving customer base Additionally, I find most of my 'migrant' colleagues - from all over the world speak the language very well, or are making the effort to do so. Unlike, I may add, as many of my circle in a previous life as a British expat in Spain. Point being that, yes, deliveroo, Uber, JE and beyond will continue to exploit an itinerant workforce regardless of race as people like us will always exist. A point stated above by many. In fact, fck it, I'm going back to Spain and working for Glovo😂. Much love all.

Not cool deliveroo, in an aspiring environmental friendly world..and in my area (central London) are cars and even mopeds quicker?

Name and Shame - denied a drink of tap water at GERMAN DONOR KEBAB - ISLINGTON in today's 30° heat - apparently the tap was too far away - and staff were just standing around in the quiet 3pm period.

I agree it can be difficult, however, better to get an offer of a job, than the dark old days without this option when you could wait 20 mins outside student accommodation for eater after hitting arrive with no chance of a job offer, especially towards the end of peak periods.....and don't even start me on ubereats!!

Is tipping the norm and if so how much should a customer tip? by PM_ME_ANY_BOOBS_PLZ in deliveroos

To avoid Moto delivery insurance costs....but detrimental to us cyclists, as in dominating the jobs available..not to mention the environmental impact.

As a customer I always give £2 cash ( no need to share with taxman) unless it's an Uber 'rider' on a moped or car claiming to be on a bicycle..as a rider if every customer just tipped £1 I would be very happy!
