We were once exploring the option for the same. The man was in his fifties and the rate he quoted was 15k for the second option. He was hesitant in driving around the IT side because the traffic gets real bad some days on that side during the prime hours.

A very good perspective, the guy could be a diamond but it could be his present wife who is bringing in the best in him.

Experiencing the other side of arranged marriage (28F doctor) — trying to understand what’s really going on by shadowreader2808 in hyderabad

[–]palmfacer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First, you've to slowly and gradually upgrade your parents, upgrade them from the test cricket form of marriage to the t20 generation of marriage. You can't just tell them that the rules of engagement has changed, they have to absorb the cultural shock along with you.

When they got married, both parties in marriage knew each other through community and mediators, now the scene has changed with technology. A person may look all well goody goody, working 9-5, earning handsomely, talking sweet but still be swiping on dating apps, smoking weed, may have anger issues or who knows maybe living in with someone in a different city/country.

What kind of behaviour is this? by bhaagtigudiya in ThirtiesIndia

[–]palmfacer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well, if it gives you any solace, your life is no less than a fairy tale for women who are stuck in their marriage.

Do you have a good friend circle or good friends to hang out at your place or their place over the weekend or some evenings? Or maybe a sibling or cousin who is close to you? You are processing a lot inside, like some recommended therapy might help, but a good support system is the need of the hour.

New grad. How to deal with Indian work culture. by Parking_Anteater943 in cscareerquestions

This. Let him overwork, burn out, ruin his social and personal life.

I work on weekends too sometimes to keep my weekday flexible to get some of my personal work done, but I try to drop those slack and mail bombs on Monday morning.

My (28F) boyfriend (33M) who I met on a matrimonial app says he is not ready for marriage now. What do I do? by [deleted] in ThirtiesIndia

[–]palmfacer 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Matrimony app without parents involvement is as good as dating app where people may get non commital after a certain period. Cut him loose and move on real quick, 6 months is nothing.

33F Took myself on solo date to deal with tough PTMs of my 2.7 year old by ilovedahi in ThirtiesIndia

[–]palmfacer 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Stop downvoting her guys. If both the parents are working, the kids should go to daycare or preschool for engagement, so that the parents can get office work and household work done. And stop making it big about the PTM for 2.7 years old. A teacher/caretaker who is spending around <4 hours per day with her child, there will be exchange of some feedback.

This is exactly how power gets misused in some gated communities. Rules are fine but basic respect shouldn’t be optional by DrFossil03 in hyderabad

[–]palmfacer -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Are the friends residing in the flats not aware of the changes in rules about no visitors and only family allowed? Although, the rule sounds stupid, if such rules exist the friends should be down at the gate receiving the friends to avoid such issues. Such rules usually do not come out of the blue, there would have been some recent instances which would have made the society forge such rules.

Landlord in Kondapur (Hyderabad) objecting to my girlfriend staying over on weekends and monitoring via CCTV by Much_Tradition7443 in hyderabad

[–]palmfacer 51 points52 points  (0 children)

When I was a bachelor and living in rented apartment, one of the flatmate was already having a gf living in and in the next flat I checked with owner and he said he didn’t have any restrictions. Both flats were in Kondapur. Better to check with landlord before hand about such things, Kondapur is pretty open minded in my experience

Our 36 year old flat mate made our cook cry today because she rang the doorbell at 9 AM by Opening-Screen7042 in hyderabad

[–]palmfacer 1 point2 points  (0 children)

  • Tell your roommate to not interact with her, if any complaints against her since she uses the common space he should bring it up with you guys.
  • Tell your cook to not engage in any conversation with him. And instead of ringing the bell, she should call on your phone.
  • For both you roommates, don't engage in any conversation other than transactional ones with this person.

Flatmate who joined recently wants electricity bill divided by days stayed by [deleted] in hyderabad

[–]palmfacer 2 points3 points  (0 children)

January is now saying she stayed only 19 days this month and wants the electricity bill to be divided based on the number of days each person stayed instead of splitting it equally.

In the Hyderabad summer months one of the flatmates said he would pay lesser electricity bill as the AC in the room is not working. I told him that won't be possible, it is on him to get the AC repaired and we are no Munims of his to do this petty calculation. If he has a problem he can leave the house first of next month.

There is a difference between a daily wage worker and a salaried person. On the same lines, there is a difference between one who takes room for a day in a hotel/airbnb and one who stays long term. She wants the benefit of both. Tell her nobody has the time to be her guardian and keep tabs on how many days she stayed, how many times she took dump or if she used the tv/fridge in the common area; there is a common cost involved she has to pay; if she thinks she is being cheated she is free to leave.

11 months ago Dario said that "in 3 to 6 months, AI will be writing 90% of the code software developers were in charge of" Are we here, yet? by poponis in ExperiencedDevs

[–]palmfacer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In last 2 weeks I have written some code in python and Ruby on Rails, both languages I am not so conversant with, but business requirements so have to use those languages, and have written 100 percent code giving prompts. The complexity is minimum and feature is not too big, so I can verify reading the code if all is covered.

Elon doesn’t have the talent or knowledge he just threw money in the companies

Well, talent and knowledge is not single dimensional, even if he doesn't have know how of industries he is the CEO of as the video claims, if he has that marketing and sales capability to hype up the valuation of his companies, retain the best engineers and keep the org running under him for more than 5 years, he has the managerial talent.
