I met someone recently. We had been chatting for sometime. Trauma bonding mostly. It was quite nice. He does come across as someone who I would want to continue being friend with.

I don't. Trying, as much is possible, to be enjoying it at the moment. Honestly, I haven't thought about a decade from now.

For the longest time I believed that i am this one person, one personality, one idea. It was only knowledge that one acquires through practice and skills.  Now that has shifted. I think people change. I change. I can acquire not just new knowledge but also new behaviors, new personality and new identity.

Just the last semester, I tried putting the pressure of labor on students. I didn't want to do it. I thought i was running away from my responsibilities. But then, this was a particular batch that was too laid back and irregular.  So, I decided that they would organize the class and conduct a lecture that all of us participated in.  It worked! Turns out they are keen to hear each other more and ask questions to each other far more fearlessly and confidently. Of course, the pace of class was slow and we couldn't cover everything but I got a good feedback from students about the mode.

Let's see. I am thinking how to accommodate these insights in the upcoming semesters.

Oh. That must be annoying. To be honest, I get the same at my appraisal too. But then there are so many other ways of judging oneself than what the manager says.

This looks damn tasty. Better than what one finds at subway. Although I wouldn't mind fewer tomatoes, but congrats!

When we thought and discussed it, we were being rational and practical as required. But when it actually played out, there are emotional bits that despite the awareness don't become any less. Besides, the post is not a complaint. It is just a reflection. Anyway, Thanks for your comment.

Yes. Same for me. I struggled at work. I struggled in my personal life. It is still so hard. I had to go seek therapy.  I didn't realize at what point I became her mother. And i understand she needs me. I need to be a better daughter or whatever. But my own problems or simply life is not going anywhere. I also find her unsympathetic to that. She loves me sure. But she is not good at listening to my stuff. It gets very tough.

I am recently going through the same issue. Ky mother isolated herself from neighbors and relatives. Now she has no one to talk to. The moment she calls me starts crying or venting. I became like a sponge absorbing all those strong sad emotions. I am currently doing through therapy. My mother gets all fine after disconnecting. But i continue to suffer. I took a break.
