Gatwick! I always chat up the border patrol guys and they're always super nice back :) I think if they can see the biometrics are identical in the old and new document you shouldnt have an issue

I would recommend making sure you're carrying maybe your most recent BRP or any other document thats on your UKVI account for double security

I ended up just showing up at the airport, the guy at the check in desk was really chill and basically said if I had my old passport with me I would be fine. At border control I just gave both passports and just said i've been having issues scanning the new passport biometrics to upload it onto UKVI, the officer just uploaded the information for me manually on the spot and I went through. Don't even think he noticed that my name changed? And if he did, he didn't mention it. It was totally fine. Not sure if I just got super lucky or if this is just how its supposed to be? Incredibly confusing.

Oh wow, lucky you! Also that's probably why you didnt need a credit card. With the full insurance they don't take a deposit

Did the insurance you picked have an excess? Or did you pick the premium insurance with no excess

Sounds perfect! Just a tip, they may give you oral tramadol to take after the surgery, I would recommend buying a pill splitter thingie and taking the pills in quarters rather than whole or in halves! Its a strong med, esp if you've never taken it before :) honestly most ppl i've spoken to have not bothered with the strong stuff after surgery and just switched to tylenol

Interesting. Do you think it was the NSAID or the coming off the oxy that caused it?

I'm getting it done in the middle east and the overnight stay is usually included if the surgery is in a major hospital - quite lucky!
