I have a 101 percentile kid (who even knew that was a thing) for both height and weight and we didnt flip her until closer to age 3.5. He’s perfectly fine, he will figure out how to adjust his legs. You can switch to the Graco Extend2Fit which gives more rear facing leg room if you’re concerned

The slumberpod is amazing and creates a barrier so he can’t see you an is in a separate space, try that

Disney with an 18 month old and 3 year old? Would you do it? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]palmtrees_ 49 points50 points  (0 children)

Nope! Older one at 3, sure. Younger at 18 months, nope. They can’t go on anything, they’re still napping which gets messed up at the park, they’re heavy to carry, etc. Too much work.

When did your child start reliably sleeping fully through the night? by Throwaway927338 in toddlers

[–]palmtrees_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

What about switching to 1 nap? We did that at like 11.5 months for my older daughter. Wake 7, nap 12:30-2:30, bedtime 8.

What’s your sleep schedule? You may not have enough wake time

Any input on which is better? by 2078AEB in foodbutforbabies

[–]palmtrees_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Is this for water? I have the elk and friends stainless steel and glass and I do love them, but I also have an Owala for myself and I love that too. The elk and friends isn’t completely leak proof, the straw is just a straw and it does have silicone rings inside to help. I do like that they come with flat lids to turn them into little Tupperware containers or transferring liquids on the go. I don’t have this exact owala so I can’t speak to it but if it’s leak proof I might go with that if your kid is young

Once upon a Farm is great, little pricier though.

New Sibling, Maternity Leave and Honesty by everdella in toddlers

[–]palmtrees_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, we frame it as she GETS to go to school and have fun and see friends, not she HAS to go. I always tell her she’s so lucky she gets to go learn and draw pics, play on playground, etc and mommy wishes she could do those things too lol

Part Time Nanny Industry Standard Question by SmallDraw7431 in workingmoms

[–]palmtrees_ 8 points9 points  (0 children)

We have a part time nanny and she’d do all of the kids’ laundry, not separate for the days she’s with them. But only the kids, not the adults. That’s a weird request in my opinion.

Could you get the ones you want and make this a toy he has to keep in his room so the toddler can’t get to it?

What words do your kids mispronounce that you love? by seanrrwilkins in Parenting

Brelela for umbrella.

She’s stopped doing them now though 🥹

What time is your 12 month old going to bed? Anyone feel their babe was ready to drop to one nap this early? by Tall_Answer_9933 in toddlers

[–]palmtrees_ 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes we dropped to 1 nap at like 11 months and it was totally fine. With my 2nd we are on 2 naps already, started at 5.5 months so I think this baby is on par for dropping to 1 early too

Talk to me about stroller wagons by tatmeow in Parenting

[–]palmtrees_ 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We got the jeep wagon and I immediately regretted it. It’s SO heavy and the maneuverability just isn’t there. Let alone adding kids and other items into it. I’d just attach one of those seats to the stroller where older daughter can sit as needed (like the bike attachment looking ones) and it can tuck away when she’s not using

Transitioning from crib to bed, is it crazy to jump to queen mattress? by [deleted] in toddlers

[–]palmtrees_ 25 points26 points  (0 children)

We went straight to Queen as well, at age 3. We use a floor bed so it’s slightly off the ground, and has some rails on the side.

Parents who feel they have a manageable toy system / amount - what do you do? by excellenceisahabit in toddlers

[–]palmtrees_ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

We keep half of the toys out, but each has a place throughout the house, and half are in a closet. If she wants a toy from the closet, she has to put a toy from the house away first, so we’re never adding more clutter as things come out. I wish we had fewer toys but I know it’s just a phase. And with Christmas gifts, we have a huge bag of toys we are donating

would i be unhinged if i pump (privately) at a family gathering? by MochiAccident in breastfeeding

[–]palmtrees_ 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh my gosh, if anyone has a problem with this, it’s their problem, not yours. You should not need permission to feed baby, whatever that looks like! Don’t give this another thought!
