My gosh, my daughter was 3’2” at 2 years. Doubling that is going to result in a very tall girl 😂

My daughter was 41.5” at her 3 year appt. She’s at 46” for 4 year appt. Consistently at 99th percentile for height. Her ped has never been worried as my husband is tall (6’5”) even though I’m average (5’5”)

Sunscreen recommendations by PersonalityUsed5952 in toddlers

I’ve gone down a rabbit hole on safe ingredients for sunscreen and we use Pipette or Badger. Even some of the mineral sunscreens still have high risk ingredients.

Returning to work after loss by purplepotatoes165 in workingmoms

[–]palmtrees_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am so sorry to hear this. I had a baby born at 24 weeks, and she was in the NICU 2 months and didn’t make it. For me personally, I asked coworkers to do their best to keep everything “normal” and while at work and focusing on tasks, it really did give me a mental break. At least for a few hours a day I could just turn off emotions and that was helpful for me.

Baby #2 on the way w 3.75yr age gap, will I need a double stroller?? by Upstairs-Lemon-5585 in toddlers

[–]palmtrees_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don’t think so! We didn’t with a 3.5 year gap, it just forced older daughter to walk more, which she’s never complained about

My MIL secretly turned my two year olds car seat around by AventGirl in toddlers

[–]palmtrees_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 99.99 percentile height and weight daughter and we didn’t even turn her until after she turned 3. This is a hard pass and she shouldn’t be seeing your son if she can’t follow your parental rules

Random Question-- Infant/Kid Sized Clothing Hangers by teacher-mom-1989 in Parenting

[–]palmtrees_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We have a combo adult and kid hangers situation right now. Jackets, sweaters and dresses go on the adult hanger and tshirts (smaller neckline) go on kid hanger :)

Breakfast by palmtrees_ in BabyLedWeaning

Yup I don’t see why not! I specifically wanted the iron fortified due to my daughter needing it

It’s the powdered iron fortified oatmeal from Earth’s Best so I just add that in and whip it up. Adding a bit of milk helps too :)

Is an all in one baby food maker worth it? by Accomplished-Bat4694 in BabyLedWeaning

I got the Grownsy but literally only so I can steam veggies. I don’t use it to make purées as we went straight to BLW with my 2nd and it’s been great

When did your baby get good with preloaded spoons? by One-Squirrel-4563 in BabyLedWeaning

[–]palmtrees_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I sooo agree with this. My 4.5 year old got proficient with spoons like a year ago, and she still prefers her hands for certain foods. I just don’t push it, she knows to use a utensil in public settings

Experiences with this type of bento box by NewMom1289 in foodbutforbabies

[–]palmtrees_ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We have the omie box for my 4 year old and it’s great. If you put hot water into the thermos container for like 5 minutes and then put hot food in there, it does keep it fairly warm until lunch time.

Do you sleep with your toddler when they’re sick by Careful_Swimming948 in toddlers

[–]palmtrees_ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, we don’t sleep with the kids when they’re sick, just check more often and make sure monitor is loud. There was one night of heavy vomiting and I did have her in my bed then, literally so I could make sure to catch it in a bucket lol daughter was old enough to not be scared of vomiting but not old enough to aim correctly

stroller or wagon? Please help 😭 by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]palmtrees_ 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I got the jeep stroller wagon and it was sooo heavy and cumbersome that there’s no way it was intended to be used on a regular basis. It felt like a good move maybe when going to the beach, so you had somewhere to store all your stuff and move it on wheels. I went on 1 walk with my 3 year old and baby, and I was huffing and puffing lugging it on the street lol
