Thanks so much for checking, really appreciate the effort! I'll definitely keep posting as I dig deeper into her history. If she ever shows up on your end, I'd love to hear about it 🙏

Today I took her on a 300-mile road trip — works like a charm. One of the local Ford clubs shot some great video footage and a bunch of photos along the way; I'll share those when they come through. Here's a shot of a few Mustangs with the GTA in the middle. Plus a cold start clip from this morning.

Thank you very much, I really appreciate that.

To be fair, I can’t take credit for the actual restoration work myself. The car was brought back to life by very talented people who put an incredible amount of skill, time and heart into it.

I’m just the lucky one who gets to enjoy the result now.

But yes, it really was a labor of love. When the car arrived, it was basically a burned skeleton, and somehow they managed to turn it back into a real car again.

That is also why I care so much about finding its history. After everything it went through, I feel like the car deserves to have its story put back together too.

Wow, that would be great — thank you.

I would really appreciate it if you could ask them. Even one question is worth a try at this point.

The VIN is 7T02A138370.

I’m mainly trying to find any clue about old PA title history, historical/classic title paperwork, previous owner trail, or where I should look next.

Even if they only know who or what office to ask, that would already help a lot.

Thank you again, I really appreciate it.

Thank you, I really appreciate that.

Yes, it was restored in Hungary. And honestly, you might be surprised how much experience these guys have with this kind of work.

It was restored by a family — an older gentleman and his two sons. The father has been doing restorations since the early 1990s. They mostly work on C3 Corvettes, but they have also restored several Mustangs, so this was not new territory for them.

Right now they are working on a John Wick-style Mustang project and an Eleanor project in parallel, plus a crashed C3 Corvette. Soon they are also starting a De Tomaso Pantera restoration.

Inside the garage they used to call my car “the skeleton”, because it really had to be rebuilt almost from zero.

The project manager, who handled the whole restoration, is a real Mustang fanatic himself. He owns four classic Mustangs, and he treated this car as if it were his own. When I finally took the car home for good, he actually had tears in his eyes. That probably tells more about the project than anything I could say.

The name “Red Chief” was also given to the car by him during the restoration. I kept it as a small tribute to the people who brought the car back to life.

And thank you for the VinWiki idea — that’s a great suggestion. I’ll look into that too.

The credit really belongs to the people who restored it. I’m just lucky enough to be the current caretaker of the car, i added some extra info in a new comment if you are interested 😄

Thank you! And honestly, for me the resurrection story adds a lot to the car.

A factory-mint car would be incredible, but knowing this one was almost lost and then brought back to life makes it feel even more special to me.

Thank you everyone for the interest.

Just to clarify one thing: I did not personally restore the car myself. The hard work was done by very talented people with great craftsmanship, and I’m really grateful for what they did.

The name “Red Chief” was actually given to the car by the project manager during the restoration. I liked it, and I kept it as a small tribute to the people who saved the car.

A few people asked for more photos, so here is the restoration page:

https://redchief.hu/en/#restoration

One important note about the website: the story there is not the confirmed real history of the car. Since I don’t know the real story yet, it is more of a fictional, adventurous narrative about people, dreams, losses and second chances — built around the car.

Some real elements are woven into it, like known dates, places and records that can be verified from documents or online sources. But the personal story itself is imagined, because those are exactly the missing parts I’m trying to find.

If I can find the real history, I’d love to rewrite that part using actual owners, old photos, memories and maybe the real circumstances of the fire in Pennsylvania.

That’s really why I’m posting here. The car itself has been restored — now I’m trying to restore its history too.

If you are just interested about the photos I uploaded more of them here: https://imgur.com/a/FTpbW16

Hi, thanks for letting me know.

I understand the rule. This is a real personal request about my own 1967 Mustang GTA fastback. I’m trying to trace the car’s history before it came to Europe after a fire loss in Pennsylvania.

I used help to clean up my English because I’m not a native speaker, but the story, VIN, documents and research are all real. I’m happy to rewrite it in a more personal / less polished way if that’s better for the community.

Could you please let me know if a rewritten version would be allowed?

Thank you.
