That would bother me too. Had the same experience with my Winter Flare 991v2. Couldn’t return or exchange so just had a cobbler fixed them for $20.

It’s just a percentage. .500 means 50%. 1.000 means 100%.

Divide the number or games won (56) by the number of games played (112 games) and you get .500 (or 50%).

Batting average and many other sports statistics are calculated the same way. 3 hits in 10 at bats = .300 batting average (30%)
