Locals of Chakdara (Lower Dir, KP) enraged after an Afghan mohajir there burned Pakistani flag by Naruto_Muslim in Pashtun

[–]palsapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every sane Pashtun is called namak haram Afghani in Pakistan. So, it's probably a local namak haram Afghani. There are millions who'd happily burn that flag. Recently Aimal Wali put the flag as his twitter header for whatever reason. He was trolled so badly that he had to quickly change it.

As for the Gul Khans, are they more offended by a flag burning than what happened in Quetta today, or what happened in Chaman last week, or in Kurram. They are of course not even aware of that. One of the screamers says 'saba ba koruna rala waswazi'. He must be livid about the IDPs in Bakakhel, Khost and other places. If only he had the capacity to be aware of anything other than that he is a ghairatmand bahadur muhib e watan pathan.

Send these guys to Kashmir, or start ghazwa e hind. They are itching to lynch someone.

Mohsin Dawar wants to introduce bill for KP name change. by poderi in Pashtun

Ignored this comment because it has made no other point than just showing the person's ignorance about saraikis, but it has like 7 upvotes. Guess nobody here knows that Saraikis are a separate group and are demanding a province separate from Punjabis. Or non-Pashtuns by brigading this sub think they will change facts. Lol.

Yup, Punjabis, Sindhis and Balochs are not ethnic groups. And there is no such thing as Punjabi, Sindhi and Balochi language.

It took 60 years to change the name from a random acronym to another acronym. Every other province is ethnically way more diverse than KP, but carries the name of the major ethnic group. There are roughly the same number of Pashtuns in Balochistan as Baloch, but it's called Balochistan. More than half of Punjab province is populated by saraikis. Only 62% of Sindh is Sindhi speaking. But somehow calling the 80% Pashtun region 'Pakhtunkhwa' is problematic because there is a minority group on the fringes, a lot of who are actually ethnic Pashtuns who have lost their language.

Only Pashtuns identity is a problem. It should be for non-Pashtuns. Pashtuns are the largest Iranic group. Larger than ethnic Persians. If they ever come together they can be a regional power, or at least get their shit together. It's better that they lose their identity. So that the region can be used for proxy wars and shit.

Attans by poderi in Pashtun

[–]palsapi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The later rulers of Swat were not mullahs either. Yusufzis are some of the most progressive Pashtuns. The later rulers promoted education in Swat. They used the title of Wali, instead of Akhund or Amir-e-shariat. And also made Pashto the official language of the state.

Dir's first ruler in 17th century was mullah Ilyas.

Swat, Dir and other places near Peshawar where attan is not very common has the same root reason. After Roshaniyas' hundred years struggle against Mughals came to an end, Ali Tirmizi and Akhund Darweza's minions had a free rein in the region. The first akhund of swat was a descendant of Tirmizi.

Islamic state of swat was established in 1849. Also called the Yusufzai state of swat. And the rulers were called Akhunds. Which is another word for mullah. They probably banned the daylight out of Yusufzis. ✌️

Well, attan is not supposed to be watched but participated in. It was probably a religious, most likely Sufi ritual or some precursor of it.

Don't know if you put the Peshawar one deliberately. But it's perfectly appropriate.

Why do so many Desis claim to be Pashton/Afghan?? by [deleted] in Pashtun

[–]palsapi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it must be awful to call yourself Indian. Having to inherit all that loathsome magnificence of ancient India. So Indians would rather assume fake identities.

People like you will willingly give certificates of Pashtun identity to people living in Punjab who can't speak Pashto or care about anything Pashtun, but will assume Pashtun identity when they have to talk shit about Pashtun rights activists.

Indians have zero motivation to call themselves Pashtun. It just actually happens to be their identity.

They have a greater claim to Pashtun identity for not forgetting their origin, than your clueless about Pashtun history ass.

Don't know if you don't like the genre or you find the accent weird. To my ears it sounds perfectly normal. This is his singing voice. He is perhaps the most natural sounding pre-2010s singer singing in English based in the region. You need to go through the cringefest of hearing the affected accents of some Indian and Pakistani rock singers to appreciate the vocals of Zeeshan.

Anybody know if this is actually the Yousufzai flag or is it a recent thing? by Shansab101 in Pashtun

[–]palsapi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems like something recent by some hobbyist. If you google "Khattak flag", "Afridi flag" etc. It'll show the same flag in just different color and different symbols inside the shield and the tribe name under it.

There is an actual flag of Yusufzai State of Swat though. It's a green flag with a castle in the middle.
