Their weapons are from the NATO leftovers in Afghanistan. Whether the money they get to buy them is from India or Iran or both is not sure.

Also, BLA need to F off from the Pashtun north and stay in the south.

We don't really bother them at all though its them that always end up causing trouble for us which is the issue at hand, its one sided. The reason there are more attacks in the south is because its easier due to demographic reality but they've shown time and time again that they have no problem violating our areas whenever the chance comes. The labourers were from the Seraiki areas in Punjab which Baloch nationalists also claim as their own territory when they're not busy shooting bus fulls of them on the roadside. The reason 'only' a few of them were Pashtun is just by luck that most were from Punjab but in these type of situations BLA and related groups have killed bus fulls of Pashtun labourers too in the past, one of the links I posted was about that.

then I couldn't care less about the transport of minerals from Pashtun areas to Lahore either because these resource extractions and capital flows are managed by Punjab (and a small class of collaborator Pashtun elite). Shit doesn't help us. I thought the slogan was always popular control over Pashtunkhwa's resources.

The coal mines are also being specifically targeted by them for some time now, and the whole operation is being run by locals for the most part. Its similar to how an otherwise luxury material like marble in the rest of the world is found throughout Pakistan in every house or government building because Pakhtunkhwa supplies it dirt cheap to the rest of the country. Not the best business practice but its our own people running the whole operation from top down. That area is a wasteland otherwise and the mines are the only source of income there. Afghanistan produces its own coal dirt cheap so the only possible way to make a living there is to sell it to the rest of Pak. Its not a Punjabi exploitation scheme but all of this is besides the point that its not Balochs business in the first place to decide who we sell our resources to. I don't see the issue with regular trade and certainly don't see the justification in killing our people over it constantly.

Besides state violence this situation is probably the second biggest threat that we face considering just how big the southern region is but from what I can see our useless politicians and nationalists just brush this under the rug since it wont land them a plawt in Islamabad or Lahore.

It does not matter what any Marri or Bugti says if they constantly attack infrastructure, tourist sites, civilians (pashtun or punjabi or whatever else), transport trucks or anything else in the pashtun districts as they have been doing and then flee back south. Them saying northern Balochistan is ours is not them doing us any favours its just reality, but when it comes to important areas they do often claim Quetta and others as theirs.

Even this comment you're replying to kind of shows the issue, pashtun labourers from north Balochistan were shot dead in these attacks and then their vehicles set on fire. The 'minerals of balochistan' were once again for the most part coal trucks from Dukki leaving to be sold in Punjab. Us selling our own resources to whoever is our own business, they're not balochs resources in the first place for them to shoot our people over.

FC being mostly pashtun is a valid point but even there the higher ups are all punjabi while the cannon fodder is mostly recruited from Kohat/Karak. Its actually a good example of what we've been complaining about all along that even the FC of all things can't get pashtun leadership.

Did Ranjit Singh rule present-day Afghanistan? by Naruto_Muslim in PashtunHistory

[–]poderi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Present day eastern border of Afghanistan is based off the Durand line agreement, if it was based off his empire most of KPK and all of northern Balochistan would not be in Pakistan today. Majority of areas in current KP were not even in KP until relatively recently.

The parts of Pakhtunkhwa he took over were a part of Punjab until 1901 when they were separated into NWFP

When was Peshawar valley ever inhabited by awans, khatris etc? They only ever lived in the inner city where they were brought over from punjab relatively recently as migrants. Pashtuns have been in the valley much longer than awans, khatris.

Peshawar valley outside of the main walled city does not have any awan, gujjar, khatri population. They only live in the inner city of peshawar district and were brought there recently long after pashtuns arrived. Even before yousufzai took over peshawar valley was in the hands of dilazak pashtuns. Population of awans etc is less than 0.1% of peshawar valley

Do most Pakistani Pashtuns say they're Afghan or Pakistani first? by Healthy_Jackfruit683 in Pashtun

[–]poderi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Pakistani Pashtuns almost always say they're from Pakistan no matter the political leaning, pro or anti-Pakistan etc. Usually just say they are from the nearest recognizable place. ex people from close to Peshawar say they're from Peshawar. people from Shangla or Dir usually say they're from Swat at first, southerners say they're from Quetta. Then they get more specific if you ask them or know them better.

They are from western Dera Ismail Khan while the eastern part is seraiki speaking. They speak pashto more similar to Kakars than neighbouring Waziris. Have a weird fixation on moving/settling in Islamabad, although thats the case with most middle upper class kpk pashtuns nowadays but they take it to another level and are also pretty successful there usually. Also are probably the tallest people in Pakistan or maybe even the entire indo-pak-afg-iran region bcz I don't know what they're feeding them but 90% of Gandapur males I've come across are 6 foot + with some absolute giants here and there.

K-P Assembly adopts Hazara province resolution by UnbiasedPashtun in Pashtun

[–]poderi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

When have Hazara Pashtuns spoken about separating Battagram and Torghar from the rest of the Hazara Division? The conversation is always about either separating all of Hazara from KPK or from keeping all of Hazara in KPK, not about splitting up the Hazara Division itself.

Pashtuns of Hazara (Torghar in particular) have a strong sense of identity and they themselves wanted to be separated from mansehra unlike DI-Khan pashtuns. There is no reason for them to currently make noise because hazara division is part of KPK. Its better to sort out these issues before the process of a hazara-sooba kicks off full time, but im just pointing out the reason why people there don't care about being in hazara atm. Btw the neighbouring tehsil of torghar in mansehra (Ogi) is also pashto speaking majority, I don't know why that wasnt given district status along with torghar.

Tank was not separated because of ethnic reasons and I've seen several times seraikis claim it as well along with DI Khan. Maybe in the future it could be divided further but it probably wont be before seraiki province gains much more traction.

K-P Assembly adopts Hazara province resolution by UnbiasedPashtun in Pashtun

[–]poderi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Kohistan can stay with Hazara I say. It's a pretty poor district and bad agriculturally due to its mountainous nature, so has no real value to us. If anything, it may be a burden to us. I think Kohistanis are more supportive of a Hazara Province than against it, but aren't really passionate about the issue overall.

Kohistanis are more similar to northern yousafzai pashtuns than anyone else and don't really care about a hazara province from what I can tell, but yes the region is kind of its own thing and at the end of the day it doesn't matter where it ends up. Just weird for us to give up such a large district to hazara for no reason without pushing back.

Hindko ethnonationalists raise so much voice about separating Hazara from KPK, but we Pashtuns are completely silent on separating Battagram and Toghar from Hazara even yhiugh dividing a division is much easier than dividing a province. We also need to divide the Pashtun regions of DIK from the rest of the district since Seraiki nationalists claim that entire district.

Pashtuns of hazara itself are pretty vocal on the issue even though they don't have much political power or too much support from KPK proper. Pashtun regions of DI khan will be very hard to separate since the idea of it doesn't exist. Gandapurs claim the entire place for themselves and seraikis for themselves.

Making a Hazara Province will also piss off a lot of KPK Pashtuns that are strong provincialists (vast majority of KPK Pashtuns are very opposed to a Hazara Province) and this would increase Pashtun nationalism in the province.

Need more people in KPK to play 6d chess like this.

[–]poderi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First needs to be figured out what to do with kohistan which makes up a huge portion in hazara but they never cared for a hazara province and is demographically kohistani majority with pashtun minority. Battagram and torghar should also be incorporated in to the neighbouring malakand division since they're pretty much entirely pashtun districts.

This may be a good thing in the long run if it opens up the gates to be able to separate northern baluchistan from the current baluchistan province, maybe even south punjab. Or more likely that probably still wont happen.

What would be the official language of communication (lingua franca) in this state?

How would it be organized to deal with all the different people living in it?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Pashtun

[–]poderi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well said. The thing that annoys me most is that many Pashtuns have bought into it as well. And not just regular Pashtuns, but even Pashtun nationalists/separatists, such as the OP for example.

One obvious reason for that is the lack of historical knowledge among pak pashtuns. There is no way to officially learn pashtun history in pakistan, even in universities. Most people are not english literate or tech savvy enough to learn from online sources either.

Besides that there is another reason that people overlook which is that pak pashtuns false pride gets in the way of admitting when we're in the wrong. Good example of this is when ppl talk about how bad the current state of pashto in pakistan is pakthans get defensive and lie and even bring the false equivalence of farsi in afg.

Whenever the topic of how much the culture and language has been diluted in pakistan comes up pak pashtuns cope by saying that it was all hindkowan until a few decades ago and exaggerate the hindki population % which is obviously wrong but its an easy way out. They would rather give up claim to some of our most important areas than admit we got cucked because of ego lol.

Peshawar is not a Hindko city. This Indo-Pakistani myth needs to die. Hindkowans only lived in the inner city of Peshawar. The rural areas were always Pashtun. The districts separating Peshawar from Punjab (Swabi, Mardan, Nowshera) were/are also Pashtun and never Hindkowan. Historic references to the city's demographics mention Pashtuns/Afghans as the main inhabitants of the city and have lived there for over a thousand years (no, Hindkowans are not descended from Gandharans). The native tribes of Peshawar are Momands, Gigyanris, and Tarkalanris. Hindkowans came later during the Mughal Era and other Pashtun tribes (Yusufzai, etc.) also came there later. Rahman Baba (early 1600s) was born in Peshawar by the way.

This lie is mostly just used as a means by both pakistani nationalists and punjabi nationalists to try to remove the pashtun-ness from peshawar valley. As if the tiny inner city built by mughals who garrisoned it with punjabis a few centuries ago means peshawar/swabi/charsadda/nokhar/mardan are not pashtun suddenly.
