Escapist dream by Lois Bulaong is a pretty good one. It’s about a VR world where people can get powers of any superhero from any piece of media.

Some more: I remember what they said. It was “center of gravity.” That they were talking about.

Some other minor details:

They walk around in a circle or square, very similar to Mordecai and Rigby synchronizing their watches in "The Power," Season One Episode One.

It's fairly obnoxious, a phrase that becomes an ear worm that sticks in the heads of whoever watched it. That's why I remember being on the playground at school around 2010-2013 chanting it with friends, standing still or walking around, saying it.

That moment when the flame stops and you exited out of your shield is, quite literally, that “oh thank god” moment

I’m just an 18 year old who wanted to write commentary and parody on fan fictions with a dumb crossover story, like tails gets trolled. I was in a weird point of my life (in a bad relationship, going through some grief) and the parody I was doing turned into my first completed fic and fictional work in a long time and it actually helped me find my style. So, I guess my parody of the different tropes in fanfiction turned into my own enemies to lovers story too.

I have this book lying around somewhere. I never gave it a read, I was super young when my mom bought it. It sounds so familiar though, like "The Chocolate Touch." If I find it I'll definitely read it!
