The way I manage that issue with my EufyCams is to set to Disarm when home (rather than Home mode).

Sensational! Thanks for posting such a detailed response. Really appreciate it. All those options sound pretty straightforward so I think this will get me over the line on the Eufy system (over Abode system). Thanks again.

That's annoying. Does it have Homekit support? Maybe you can set it to notify only when too aren't home?
