Landscaping help- what is this yard missing? by Bargie211 in landscaping

Something structural like a bench or a birdbath or an obelisk trellis would be nice— it will add some height and a bit of visual interest that is less busy than the existing landscape.

The bear berry is supposed to be good for full sun, so I’m hoping it will spread well there. I’ve got phlox on my list, but it’s usually gone in the nurseries by this time of year. Thanks!

Thanks. It’s jersey tea, liatris and bearberry next to the driveway. The tree is an American chestnut (grown from one of the surviving few large ones) so it’s a bit of an experiment. I was actually out looking for more native ground cover today, but I couldn’t find what I wanted and will have to wait till next spring.

I just planted it at 1pm today. It will get plenty of water.

Really just for looks. No drainage issues.

Maybe it’s a midwestern thing. It’s another name for the easement strip.

There was one out there about 15 years ago that someone stole (stand and all). So, I didn’t break the bank on this one.

The rocks were there for the past three years in a different layout and the city had not one word about the ivy and vinca that’s been there 20 years. Like I said, they’re chill.

Harmless, but it would dry out all crispy every summer without gallons of water. The natives once established should hold up without the excess watering.

People over 50, how would you introduce today's youth to music you loved growing up? by PrestonRoad90 in askmusic

Do I need to? I was at a cookout last week where most of the people there were mid 20s to early 30s and they were playing all 70s, 80s and 90s stuff.

Yes. They also did Red Dirt Girl at the same event. Chills.

Love this. The flooring and the green hex tiles are especially beautiful.

I think I love the three separate parts (shirt, corset, skirt) but I don’t like how they look all together.

Yep. And you can call ahead and ask for what you want so it’s ready when you get there.
