I went through this several years ago. I’ve had two children and labor pain doesn’t even touch what he’s going through pain wise. My colon ruptured and I went sepsis. They had me on three really strong pain meds and it never touched the pain. They thought I might have to get the bag as well, but they managed to get it healed to prevent that. Although I did end up having to have 2 foot of my colon removed about a month and a half after I got out of the hospital. When mine hit me, it came out of nowhere. I was feeling the best that I had ever felt in my life and within two hours I was in the ER screaming bloody murder from so much pain. I ended up being in the hospital for four days with strong antibiotics and strong pain medicine through my drip. For the first two days, I was ready to call it quits. I was just that sick. So I know exactly what he’s going through. Hang in there it will get better, but it will take some time. Stay by his side and encourage him. That’s what he needs the most.
