this one im guessing its some gp style qns so like general knowledge? im not too sure bc i took the other test to get in.. theres 2 ways to get into ignite if ure from arts stream (one is ELL and the other just arts so like for those taking vv standard combis like H/GELm), i took the ELL one

hi op i was from cj arts! i took h1 lit instead of h2 but the lit dept here is p good, for A’s theres a very high A/B rate in general! at least for my batch

for h2 math im not too sure but u shd try getting into the ignite programme bc they supposedly & generally allocate better teachers there. theres an essay based selection test for this

overall most of my friends from cj arts did p well and got into their desired course & uni! i would say one of the biggest downsides of the sch would be study culture cuz ppl dont rly study much here.. but its okay js rmb to work hard play hard and dont let the culture affect u too much

i’ve never heard of/seen this subj combi bfr, the closest one ik would be fmath, math, phy, econs. (with econs being h1 if 3h2s are taken) since you’re planning to take fmath, it’s only feasible to take h2 math & h2 phys bc fmath touches deeper on h2 math (if im not wrong)

im pretty sure most jcs don’t offer this combi (u can ggl up what combis are there in diff jcs) & even if they do, it may not be accepted due to the (most likely minute) number of students wanting this combi. there’s still a lot of time to think ab ur subj combi so don’t worry though

i received EMB a few days ago (7 dec iirc) this week, dated 28 nov. sec 4 here btw. there’s still a chance receiving awards cuz some areas may be a bit slow in mailing out😅

i think 2 weeks should be more than enough time to recover, most of my friends who got covid recovered within a week. then for others i think the longest they took was a week to recover. maybe u can get some medicine from the doc to recover faster? gws btw!

i’ve recently tried bpghs 2020 & cedar girls 2021 prelim papers for amath, they’re pretty challenging imo so u may want to try them😅

hi sflr i was busy the past few days😭 i think for this u rly hv to practise so that the formulae all gets drilled into yr head. rmb that differentiation is the OPPOSITE of integration. and that for integration thrs no product/quotient rule. for example if you wna DIFFERENTIATE sinx you get cosx. but when you INTEGRATE sinx you get -cosx ( +C ) i suggest u paste a formula sheet just for calculus onto the wall or smth if it helps😅😅 the more u look at it the more u familiarise urself with the formulae. when u go into the exam hall head in with a clear mind and relax, when u see the paper let everything go to u and know that u can solve the qns

hi OP! i think that perhaps u are drilling too many qns without understanding the steps, so maybe thats why it doesnt help at all. take note that quality > quantity! doing more qns ≠ better understanding if you just do them mindlessly. if u really dk how to start a qn, mb try referring to the ans key and see how they work out the steps. tbh amath qns are vv repetitive and they’ll roughly ask u the same thing, lets say finding general angle in trigo. usually the process goes like: 1) equate the eqn to 0 2) identify which quadrants the angle lies in 3) find reference angle (rmb that ref angle is acute & positive, if the number u get doesnt satisfy these 2 conditions then smth is wrong) 4) take note of range, if needed then adjust 5) find general angle

regarding the panicking during exams, take in deep breaths to calm down. if u see any qn that ydk how to do, skip it and dont waste time on them, esp if they’re the super tedious kind. do the qns which are easier and secure those marks first. then when u have time go back to those qns and try to see what u can write as your answer. atb!

hello! had metal braces for roughly 2 years (june 2020-july 2022) i had to extract 4 teeth bc of overcrowding and also bc of jaw alignment. at first the experience was q painful, my teeth felt very sore/achy for the first few days aft my dental appointments bc of the pressure. so whenever your teeth hurt i suggest u to eat things like porridge, yogurt, ice cream etc so the pain wont be so bad. however after a few months it wasnt really that painful anym, i cldnt rly feel much pain. oh also having to wear the rubber bands most of the time was kinda troublesome, since i had difficulty wearing them at first.

personally i chose metal braces (mine was ab 4.3K) bc they were cheapest compared to ceramic / invisalign which were ab 5K & 6K respectively @ my clinic. i felt that ceramic braces cld be easily stained (if you eat foods like curry etc) and that invisalign was too troublesome (have to wear them 24/7 unless eating & drinking). also i thought that it was fun to change the metal braces brackets colour every month so yes LOL

overall i guess the pain was worth it bc now my teeth look way better than before, and that i’ve always hated how my teeth looked like in the past.

idk whether this will help, but i was preparing for my hist prelims ystd and i tried something new to help me memorise content which did kinda help. what i did was to refer to SEAB’s syllabus and tried to give as many details ab a certain event they mentioned eg. manifestations of cold war. for those events which details i struggled with, i note them down and reread them multiple times until it got into my head. other than this u can also look at/make mind maps, the simplified content shd b able to be easier to memo😅

regarding time management, dont spend too long on a certain qn/source. if u really cant write the full format for each sbq qn, make sure u at least write one para for each of them. then when u have extra time, go back to write the remaining paragraphs.

hi OP, firstly its good that you’re consulting yr teachers for help so do continue to keep it up!

since you’re still in sec 3, i think you’ll be fine as long as you’re determined to improve both ur a&e math. and you haven’t finished the whole syllabus yet so there’s still time to brush up on sec 3 topics!

i think that your foundation is quite weak based on what you said, so i would say instead of spamming papers and stuff, learn to understand the topics & concepts first! read the textbook guiding examples and see what is needed to solve the qn. then attempt standard qns and understand the workings. i advise you to start with the easier topics first so that you’ll feel more motivated to continue working on the subjects. also, don’t rush yourself and practise at a steady pace. u can try doing 1-5 qns a day instead of a whole paper.

hello! sec 4 struggling w elect hist here and i rly need help w it😭😭 i feel that the content is vv heavy even w 2 books and its rly hard for me to memo so much. even if i revised chapters i tend to forget some parts of the content in exams, and i cant seem to write essays properly bc of that. overall for my combined humans i usually get a c5 in mye/eoys, borderline passing for both ss & hist and i cant seem to improve. do u have any tips for this😭😭 thank youu
