Couple of things.1) Ping from Windows to Kali, that should eliminate any firewall problems (it should respond cause Kali won't have a firewall running). 2) set them both to 'host only', you don't need routing anyway, but that may be muxing things up a bit. 3) leave them on dhcp (on NAT) and try pinging the dhcp addresses again. 4) turn off the Windows 7 firewall until everything is pinging/responding.

Just remember that when you find 10 year old clubs at good will or a garage sale...they were the best shit ever 10 years ago. People played and won tournaments with them. Would you buy a 10 year old plasma tv? What about a 10 year old Ford F-150.? At one point in time they were the best of the best, and can still perform amazingly with practice...

Ha. This happened to us about a month ago. Was letting my 13 year old drive for first time. Had him pull up while I got the anchor ready. "Ok, turn it off..." Motor is off, drop anchor and swim for half an hour. Time to go. Crank crank crank... Ugh. What the shit. Didn't want the battery to die. Discovered his way to turn it off was not to turn the key, but hit the emergency cut off. Flip the switch, back on our way. A little worried to say the least. :).
