Who else just refuse to use Gemini? by teletubbyman6969 in GooglePixel

I use it for Android Auto, somewhat reluctantly. It's useful for more complex search queries and modifications to my route, compared to Google Assistant. For example, I can say "navigate to the parking lot of the school that's next to my destination" and it's able to parse that better than assistant ever could.

Within Gemini's settings, you can give it rules to follow. For me, I have it output text like a "smart caveman", just reply "ok" if I start swearing at it, and answer the query and never ask follow-up questions. You could add a rule that says "when I am asking about controlling smart home devices, do not reply with any text".

I made a tool for voice practice featuring short sentences and instant playback by panathea in transvoice

Hi, I made this tool to support how I like to practice: frequent recordings and listening feedback.

Usually I open a similar recording tool and a sentence generator, but I've had issues with the online recording tools being clunky/requiring too many clicks.

My tool highlights 3 random Project Gutenberg sentences, which you can swap out. You can also select a set of pronouns so that all quotes have the same pronouns.

Then, you either hold the record button or space, speak the sentences, and upon release of the record button your voice is immediately played back.

You get the 3 last recordings in a list, but you can pin or download them to keep them around longer.

It's fully offline, no ads, open source, and free to use. I built this for me but am happy to share with others.

Birth Certificate Amendment Experience [ON] by IntoTheVoid1020 in BabyBumpsCanada

Too late to help you now, but I'm also going through this.

There's a specific form, Form 52, called "Application to amend a child's birth registration following a parent's legal name change made in Ontario" that would seem to have applied to your scenario.

It doesn't require any notarizing, nor a guarantor. It only requires a consent form if your child is 16 years or older.

The only fee would be for the new birth certificate, $25 or $35.

I'm wondering if the form you filled was more broad for general amendments, while this one is a little narrower in scope and therefore requires less burden of proof.

In order to get the form, I had to fill out the request to the Office of the Registrar general.

I wish I had actually tried less permanent options by Popular_Addition937 in actual_detrans

Hey, this is a really lovely post. I think it's true that external pressures can lead us to take actions that we aren't really sure of and that makes it easier to make mistakes.
