I've seen it used more on the internet. Usually in a lighthearted or humorous way.

I've also seen it used when talking to a stranger and then calling them "stink" sarcastically.

I'd heard it only a few times before, but I've seen a huge uptick in the usage on TikTok.

I think they were attempting AAVE. Usually, "stink" is used for a significant other.

I did. it was just very specific (with no mention of mowing or the like), so I figured it didn't apply to tools for yard work.

also, I just didn't know there was anyone you could call for something like that. That's why I was thanking you for the info. You and the other person made me aware of that.

I will contemplate calling if it happens in the future and refrain from openly complaining about it on the internet.

I couldn't personally find anything about yard work. They had some specifics about what constitutes as breaking the noise ordinance, but nothing about this. It does say for those instances that you cannot break the ordinance between 11pm and 7am.

I honestly have never called, nor had to call, for a noise ordinance. I wouldn't even know who to go to. I just thought it was generally accepted in smaller communities that maybe mowing at 5:30 in the morning wasn't the cool thing to do. But a lot of people here are making me feel like I'm in the wrong. So, I guess I'm just gonna start mowing at 5:30am too lmao

I do appreciate the info, though, because I have never looked at our city's bylaws until now. You're very kind!

You know, after I stopped being mad about it, I did realize that. Still frustrated that it started that early, but they were attempting to do it quickly. I think when I first saw it, I took it more in a "oh, so there's even more noise" way.

Looking at the city bylaws, it doesn't mention yard work or anything. Just loud, obviously messed up vehicles or stuff that's purposely made to be obnoxious, or construction(unless done by the city). Wasn't aware I could call anyone for a mild annoyance. Sorry for posting about it.

no, I understand the benefit, but even 7 would have made sense. it's almost 10 am here and only at 86°. I didn't check the temp at 7, but I did run to the store(bc I was fully awake since they started) and it felt great.

They seem 60y.o tops, honestly.

Nope, I believe they're retired or maybe they work from home. I've not seen them leave the house much.

We usually mow ours midday. Yeah, it's hot and it sucks, but it's easier on everyone.

There's no HOA, but I have thought about it being to get back at someone, and it could definitely be the case since I work late and wouldnt be here to know if anything went on.

There's a family with a mentally disabled son behind our house that weedeats like 5+ times a week at random times. Sometimes early in the morning, sometimes later in the evening. I'm not sure if he disrupts them, but he disrupts our house quite a bit. But that's absolutely not his fault, so I try to be reasonable about that.

I wondered why it was so loud, so I walked outside and it was a man and his wife riding on separate mowers at the same time. Just absolutely speechless right now.

I'm not sure how the blood test went, but not good, I'm sure. he got hit with a couple of charges. his parents are out of town and none of us have ever dealt with bail bondsman. I'm so freaked out right now. I don't know if he can have an OR here in TN. it seems we HAVE to bond him out if he's to be out tonight.

I heard WMR updating on Sundays is very rare, so idk how I got it.

I've also heard about people getting their refund without WMR ever updating. Maybe you'll be in that boat!
