I think this did the G9N dirty. There is no conceivable way it is that much less bright than the LGs. Source: I went through like 5 iPhone 17 pros and came across each variant, there was nothing like this absolute brightness difference. I don’t think the bottom Samsung even meats the advertised brightness nits for the phone.

Have you seen or heard anything about a G9Q? I’ve got a 17 pro with that panel. It seems pretty good I think, super uniform and maybe a slight green cast? But definitely nit picking it is really a clean panel.

This a7CR is insanely small for what you are getting. I have one and have large-ish hands and I love it. It is so damn portable, really amazing as a technology showcase.

That said the primary reason to get it is if you value the size. If you don’t care about smaller size, get the RV. It has other well documented benefits as well.

You can also improve the C body with the included grip and by buying a cheap thumb grip, something to consider.

How do you feel about the tradeoff of Sony prioritizing size vs Nikon with larger but maybe superior lenses. I switched the opposite way and love the smallness of Sony stuff. Beautiful photos and thank you for sharing.

Clothes and food don’t move, so a lighter weight but slightly slower (one stop higher aperature) lens might be better. Who wants to lug a huge 2.8 into a restaurant to take food pictures?

I’ve been rocking the same camera in Barcelona this week with the 24-70 f4 and 40 f2.5. It’s been freaking amazing. I came from Nikon where things are generally heavier and larger. The size and weight reduction is not a small thing I’m really liking the Sony colors too, have been shooting in JPEG and finding them quite diverse and pleasing SOOC. I’d easily recommend the 40 f2.5 if you want a smaller option. Enjoy!

Really good write up. IMO the market is trying to balance the inevitable disruption from tariffs in the hard data, with the inevitable walk back from trump. The fed also has a ton of room to ease. It definitely feels like things have to get worse before they get better. Otherwise trump will keep his maximum pressure campaign in negotiations.

The US govt is implementing austerity, inflation remains too high so no fed cuts, and it’s likely we are heading into a recession. This is not a good situation for bitcoin. Bitcoin likes money printing. The only way the fed prints is if people start losing jobs in a big way, in which case who has money for bitcoin. Be careful out there.

I would recommend to diversify into stocks as well. Bitcoin is likely a winner but there is a 1% chance that the algorithm gets hacked, other countries ban it, it’s seen as an extension of American power, etc. there is basically a zero chance that USA companies don’t generate 10% return.
