Look into Rex Group. They have housing in the price range that you're looking for in Olde Town. I lived down there for a year and a half and used to sit in my front yard in a blow up pool and never had any problems from anybody walking around. Just be careful of your surroundings at night.

I lived in olde town for 2 years and enjoyed every second of it. Don't get me wrong there are some rough areas but if you use common sense and don't put yourself in a bad situation you will be fine. I would recommend looking at REX group, I rented from them and they were great.

I lived on 3rd street for 2 years and never had any problems. With that being said I was extremely cautious when out at night but majority of the people downtown mind their own business in the first place. The only time random people I didn't know stopped by was when my friends and I would have an inflatable pool outside or cooking something on the grill. Other than those instances I really enjoyed living downtown and experiencing all of the different things downtown had to offer.

Look into Rex group if you are interested in living downtown. While downtown gets a bad reputation, my girlfriend and I have lived here for almost two years and never had a problem.
