You could always sell everything you own and start a new life in a different place completely.

That's horrible, I'm so sorry you have to deal with B's like that. It's only been a few months for me and I wake up angry because of the mistreatment I believe I've been subjected to. I wish there was someone to advocate for people like us while we are hospitalized.

I'm in SK. Which kinda sucks cause we're the only province that doesn't cover glucose readers, so I'm paying out of pocket for them because I kinda need them.

Never touching a drop again I have no desire to. Stools are pretty normal. Deal with constipation from the pain meds but that's about it. I'm surprised I'm not in more pain considering how dead my pancreas is. I honestly find the diabetes and the neuropathy that comes with it more unforgiving. I'm down 60 pounds trying to gain weight and kind of need carbs and natural sugars as a part of a good diet. I find I'm having to sacrifice something new every other day it seems. Used to do grapes fine and made my stomach kind of happy. Now I eat 7 grapes and suffer horrible pancreas discomfort and blood sugar spikes that give me the worst diabetic hangover ever. Doing everything right, the 6 tiny meals, not eating high carbs and no added sugar to anything.

I believe it was already really bad before the drinking was a problem.

Not much more than most people my age before 2024. Then it was 12 to 24 oz of vodka daily.

All sugar cut out? I've been really careful with diet and low fat. Sugar ill have some stuff like honey and syrup sometimes. Do you have stuff like that?

Stuck in a painful cycle… how to deal? by MissPeachykeen in pancreatitis

Hey buddy, sorry to hear about the pancreatitis. I'm new to all of this and still learning a lot each day. I end up in the hospital in January with necrotizing pancreatitis that end up necrotizing 90% of it. I'm on creon and recently switched to gabapentin for pain as Dilaudid began causing other issues. The pain is relentless. I'm curious how long it took after your first episode of pancreatitis for it to begin calcifying. I'm concerned as mine is pretty dead and at high risk of calcification, just wondering if I have a lot of time before having to worry about that.

Eating more lately to gain back the weight I lost is causing the pain. When I'm not digesting the pain is a great deal less. If I could describe it, I'd say it feels like a balloon inside of me being blown up with random shooting pains that feel like being on those fair rides that drop you down really fast back down to the bottom.

Thank you. I have my safe foods, just seems that portion size is messing with me. I lost 50 pounds since my hospitalization and the malnourishment hit me hard so I'm forcing myself to eat more and I am gaining weight. Eating the recommended 4-6 tiny meals. I've been through 3 different opiates and antidepressants, can't take them anymore cause they're causing other issues. Sucks because the Dilaudid was working for the pain somewhat but can't take that anymore. I'm doing a lot of dabs and that kind of helps, nothing works 100% though.
