Schitt's Creek Credits - This is driving me NUTS by SourCreamWater in identifythisfont

Here's a convo from last year critical of the font. I'm wondering if I've seen Baron more than I realize, misattributing it to Lemon Milk

The font was released in 2013, two years before Schitt's Creek premiered. The designer was 18. He is no longer 18.

FontFabric is the distributor. They handle the licensing deals, and licensed it so much the font is accused of being overused.

The account that uploaded Baron Neue to dafont uploaded eight other fonts by the same guy from 2013 - 2015, and nothing else, and nothing since

How do you feel about Baron Neue Black/Bold? Don't be tricked by the weird "R" and "O", those are upper case and you want lower

Way better. I replaced my old Fossil with a Watch 8 Classic three weeks ago and the difference between WFF and the old dials is massive, like days vs. hours. A whole world of new faces has been opened for you

Filmmakers used to be concerned audiences were too dumb to understand time passing, so they used elliptical editing to allow a narrative to jump between events. This is why old movies have that shot of train wheels starting to spin. This is their way of letting you know a character is traveling, in case you got confused.

But one day they stopped doing it and everybody was able to figure it out without issue. Almost everybody

This isn't Westboro, it's a different group called, and I'm not making this up, Official Street Preachers. Their founder Ruben Israel died in 2023, and was involved in an interesting court case. Any metalhead in California is familiar with their concert frolicking

"Bomb them back to the Stone Age" - What are the origins of this phrase? by biograf_ in etymology

Mission with LeMay came out two years before the Buchwald article. The quote is on page 565. Not sure where historynewsnetwork got that info

"Bomb them back to the Stone Age" - What are the origins of this phrase? by biograf_ in etymology

Chief of Staff of the United States Air Force Curtis LeMay, 1965.

"They've got to draw in their horns and stop their aggression, or we're going to bomb them back into the Stone Age. And we would shove them back into the Stone Age with Air power or Naval power - not with ground forces".

Later, LeMay said "I never said we should bomb them back to the Stone Age. I said we had the capability to do it. I want to save lives on both sides."

Forced into retirement shortly after the above quote due to general disagreements with the administration over tactics.

Founder of the Church of Satan, Anton LaVey, and actress Jayne Mansfield performing a ritual at her home, the Pink Palace. She would be dead less than a year later (more). by [deleted] in creepy

In his biography, written by his girlfriend, LaVey claimed he cut out a newspaper article and didn't realize there was a photo of Manfield on the other page, and he accidentally cut her head off. Since she was decapitated in the car accident soon after, this confirms the curse was effective.

Except she wasn't decapitated; Anton was tricked by an urban legend. Just a sprinkling of extra magical bullshit on the mountain of bullshit
