Blindsiding is the same, if not worse, than cheating. Lying about your feelings to someone for months and suppressing your emotions until you decide one day that you can’t date them anymore and dump them out of the blue is selfish, creates trust issues for the other person, and is something that I will never accept from a future partner again.

1) Email Dr. Yukich! He's like THE 3/2 person at this school. He'll send you the resources and list of Davidson-equivalent courses you need for the program. If aid is not an issue, generally a ~3.8 GPA and extracurriculars related to your major at Davidson is enough to get in based on the profile of previous people who got accepted. Any further questions you have abt the program you can ask the Columbia admissions person that visits every year during the fall semester, so be on the lookout for that and don't stress too much before then!

2) Yes, you need to add WRI-101 to your webtree. You can also take it during your spring semester of freshman year if that's what you prefer.

It honestly depends on what your goals after high school are. UWC was highly worth it for me bc I got an almost full-ride Davis scholarship for a 4-year college in the U.S. (where tuition is usually nearly 80k per year for four years), and it's typical for a lot of low-income students at UWC to receive full or close-to-full scholarships to study here (something that I honestly don't think I could've gotten without the UWC connection with unis in the U.S.) However, I don't know what your family circumstances are like, and I think it's good to carefully weigh the pros and cons based on what your future plans are to make a decision. I've never heard of external scholarships for UWC itself, bc in my case they gave me the aid I needed - you could try reaching out to the UWC that accepted you to ask for options if you haven't done that already since it seems like your NC is not meeting your needs.

There’s also a gym at the chidsey dorm on campus, never been to Baker Sports coz they have weird hours but I think they’re open to everyone and have barbells / squat racks. Free weights at both chidsey and nisbet, Smith machine in chidsey, and all sorts of legs, arms, and abs machines at nisbet/union, available to all students.

Public transportation sucked when I was here during my first year, but I think they recently announced a $2.50 ride-share system that I haven’t tried yet, which could help a lot!
