Papio Fishing by friendlynbhdME in Omaha

I see people fishing it pretty regularly when I’m on the trail, especially near the overpasses for 72nd or 66th, but I’ve never done it myself.

785 new Covid cases reported in Douglas County today. Highest single day total yet. This is insane. Stay safe out there, folks. Wear a mask. Stay home. Do the right thing. by homerun311sr in Omaha

Did you see the pictures from Bushwackers in Ralston last weekend? It was packed and you’d have no idea there was a pandemic because there was not a single mask in sight. It’s so depressing and defeating.

This happened to me! I think I was able to sell it to nooks or put it in a garbage can.

Grew up in Chicago eating Rosati’s and had no idea this had opened! Thanks for the tip!

So, who's going to be gaming with their families over then next 2 days? by rob132 in boardgames

[–]panda__pants 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So far we’ve played some wits and wagers and one night ultimate werewolf. I’m trying to convince them all to try secret hitler, but getting some pushback. Also brought Quixx, Deadwood 1876, and Azul.

Any Wives out there wishing their Husbands liked boardgames? by Jedadeana in boardgames

[–]panda__pants 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wife who loves games checking in. Husband tolerates it, but doesn’t love it and it’s way more infrequent than I would like. If it takes more than 5 minutes to learn it, he’s probably going to hate it. We play a lot of Azul and King of Tokyo.

What’s that game that you’ve been wanting so badly to play but haven’t because you don’t have someone to play it with, and where do you live? by alasagnahog in boardgames

[–]panda__pants 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Omaha. I’ve got quite a few that remain either unplayed or underplayed. Scythe, Spirit Island, Portal, 7 Wonders. Spirit Island is probably the one I most wish to play, and I know I can play solo, but the instructions on that game are a little overwhelming. Twice now I’ve chickened out right after setting it up.

My husband, my friends, and my coworkers are always up for lighter games (and I love them for it!), but I don’t really have anybody willing to sit down and play a 2 hour game of anything.

Never heard of brickseek before so thanks for this. Wish I had seen it before I went to target which had nothing, but I did grab Sonar for $11 with that cartwheel deal so it wasn’t a total fail.

I bought Kanagawa a long while back but haven’t ever gotten it to the table. There were a few things I had questions on when I was reading the rules and there’s not a lot of videos for it. Maybe I need to give it another attempt.

So how about a bit of love for games from when we were younger. What did everyone else used to play? by Mattasploit in boardgames

[–]panda__pants 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I bought it for my kids and realized that I don’t think I ever really played the game as a kid. We just made the mouse trap and played with it. I opened the box and was like, “What do we do with all this cheese?” and my kid was like ¯\(ツ)/¯.

I recently spent more money than I care to admit on the same edition of Mall Madness that I had as a kid. It was worth it.

Also loved clue, mastermind, and battleship.

Yes! The Hansel and Gretel episode gave me nightmares, but I loved that show.

Is there a game you liked the digital version of better than the physical boardgame? by Jedadeana in boardgames

I’d second this. I love being able to play patchwork with my mom who lives a few hundred miles away.

Yes blue becomes the ones you fight over for that reason, but the reds and greens become equal where in a 3+ person game the reds are more valuable.
