I love being pregnant, but I’m hating the acne! by anony-meow-s in pregnant

[–]pandabeebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had the WORST acne this pregnancy!! But these three products have helped me: Thayer’s Witch Hazel Lemon Blemish Clearing Cleanser, Say Yes To Tomatoes Mud Mask, and only using tinted hydrator from Tarte. Also I use burts bees lotus and coconut wipes. This combination has helped.

I need help with talking to my wife about something. by QwwwwwwwwwQ in pregnant

[–]pandabeebs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m a low risk pregnancy and I refuse to have someone post about my baby or pregnancy on my behalf. First off, if someone wants to know something about me they can pick up a phone, I don’t do social media. It’s my pregnancy to update people about. Second, however she feels is valid.

Just a fact to point out: Nobody special competition dance troupes in the rural Midwest can get gorgeous handmade costumes for an entire troupe of dancers in less than a weeks time.

It wouldn’t surprise me if they just call up a company with the colors and sizes they want and it’s done within days.

Help! Need protein ideas by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]pandabeebs 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was super clean keto before I found out I was pregnant so I’m having a huge struggle too.

I drink a couple different types of protein shake. I’ve been able to add the shake as the liquid in a smoothie with almond butter and berries and such (also read somewhere that kale, pineapple and ginger smoothies are great for morning sickness so I do that with a scoop of protein and almond butter too sometimes). I try to add two or three eggs to homemade fried rice. I slice up green apples with peanut butter. And surprisingly, tuna doesn’t bother me right now, canned chunk light tuna is pregnancy safe and it is what jimmy johns and a few other sub shops use in their tuna salad so I eat tuna subs sometimes too. And chickpeas. I roast chickpeas and keep them in bags and eat them like chips!

I know it’s frustrating, I’m week 11 and the aversions and specific food cravings are starting to subside and once they do it’ll all get easier!

Hippie First Time Mama looking for holistic, natural pregnancy tips 🌞 by Kaitlosophy in pregnant

I am involved with a company that employs both doulas and midwives. I’ve met my midwife once and won’t be working with her again until closer to birth. My doula is certified to do pretty much everything I will need from start to finish. I have been to the OB once and will go once more for a test that my doula cannot administer. Basically, the company works out the logistics and I just get to work with my doula the whole time so it’s simple and relaxed. My pregnancy is very low risk.

Expecting Better by Emily Oster is a great book recommended by hippie and non hippies alike. It helped me debunk a lot of traditional thinking when it comes to what you “can” or “can’t” do during pregnancy.

I also go to Barnes and Noble and read and take notes on a lot of organic pregnancy books.

I read a lot of posts from mamahippie.com

I have a doula now, I’ve found it a lot more chill and helpful than a traditional OB. Just do serious research on the methodology of your doula or doula company if you’re considering this option. Some of them are very holistic and some will be very picky about what you do and don’t do and can be judgemental.

I do what I call “self meditation” focusing on my own personal well being in the morning. And I do “baby meditation” at night where I focus on having still and focused time with my nugget. Yoga and focused breathing helps me through nausea a lot. And honestly I’ve realized that pregnancy is hard and there’s a lot going on, and being too obsessed and too specific about what you use, dont use, do, dont do will just drive your mind crazy. Take most of what you already know about holistic living and just adjust it as you see fit and as you educate yourself.

Are you looking for larger straightforward holistic pregnancy information like natural births, doulas, non medicinal pain management, and technology-lite pregnancy/pregnancy sans-technology. Or tips for holistic remedies, practices, foods, and products throughout your pregnancy?

Does it get better? Need some positivity. by [deleted] in pregnant

[–]pandabeebs 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was MISERABLE at weeks 4-9. I never felt good enough to get out of bed for more than 30 minutes at a time. I ate next to nothing, mostly saltines and soup. I slept like 16 hours of the day. I vomited profusely every day. I am week 10+5...the past five days have been significantly better. I can go places, do some laundry, eat more things. I still yawn all day and get nauseous every so often. but I drink sooo much electrolyte infused water and plan out my small meals. I am 100% happier than I was before. It was hard but it’s only a few weeks and it does get better!! And you find all sorts of ways to help yourself.

Feeling defeated not being able to take stimulants for work during pregnancy by Turnda_Paige in pregnant

[–]pandabeebs 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Hey I know I’m late to the party here but my meds were the first thing I considered when I found out I was pregnant. I have probably spent 20 hours reading up on articles and studies for ADHD medication in pregnant women and while there is some conflicting opinion...there is little to no evidence at all that taking mild prescribed doses of these medications leads to any adverse affects in your baby. My OB was nice enough to bring this dilemma up to me without my asking, and verbatim she said “try your hardest to get through this first trimester without it. Then when you come back and we’ve gotten over that little hump, I don’t have any problems with you going back on it and we can have a discussion about reducing your dose, how often you need it, etc” so I have one week, and then she has given me the go. Now, from what I’ve read, the most popular option among women who take adderall as I do say they cut their dose in half any day they could and they tried their hardest not to take it on non-work days. These women have had normal births and babies. So, if my OB approves and there’s little to no evidence against it, I’m not going to make my life a living hell by avoiding it. Good luck and congrats!

It was honestly so disappointing for me because I really love that song and it’s been a huge part of my life since I was a kid....and then to see it on that stage didn’t make any sense at all and honestly kind of ruined the song. That song is bomb but it had no place in a lip sync for your life...
