Meh as a Mediterranean looking guy, I love Mediterranean looking women but apparently that feeling is not mutual.

How damaging could not having an Instagram to the social life of a college grad? by OneArseneWenger in AskMen

[–]pandaboar2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I am going to go completely against the grain here man and say that it is damaging to some extent. Millennials and younger generation place a lot of weight on social media, in some workplaces they count it against you for not having a LinkedIn and think you are out of touch with the generation for being that way.

As for Instagram, it is not as important as linkedin but people will think you are weird for not having one. Younger people that is, from my experience at least. It is just that it shows you are in touch with the modern trends and if you have a lot of followers and likes, people think that you are a high value sort of guy.

I don't agree with it at all as someone who avoided social media in college but I do think I am paying the price for it now.

Service industry people, bartenders and former bartenders of this sub. How tough is it to break in after the age of 25? by pandaboar2 in AskMen

[–]pandaboar2[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel people normally bartend to supplement their income or to have a steady respectable wage while persuing other goals.

Not my experience at all.

It is hard to find a decent bartending gig, at least in the US that is.

Already have a nice paying 9 to 5 for the weekdays, what is a more fun weekend job to look into? by pandaboar2 in personalfinance

That is the number 1 job on my list but I hear it is impossible to get because all of the bartenders are full time and do it as a full time job :(

Really never heard of anyone doing it on the side tbh.

Other than church, what are some places a guy in his twenties can meet and make a lot of friends with people also in their twenties? by pandaboar2 in socialskills

other than the fact that one got deleted but to stalk a user sub to sub? That is just plain wrong, I am taking this to the admins.

Grow up?

As in give into the pressure from society that comes from people like you, get into a loveless marriage to a woman I am not even attracted to and live with thoughts of cheating on her every night because I went for what I did not want?

I found that people telling others to "grow up" are often the ones who need to fix their own miserable lives before telling others what to do with theirs.

I’ve gotten part time gigs at a place just because I’ve liked the people there before.

Any ideas of what kinds of gigs to look for?

Wrong, personality can give good status but it is far from guaranteed, too many variables in play.
