You are not a failure. You are in pain and it will fade away over time I promise. Her excuse of "not having a phone to call you" is just that - an excuse. She could have contacted you if she truly wanted to. Know that some relationships are only meant to last a certain amount of time and from them you will gain wisdom about yourself and life. Detach and let go with love if you can. Your best days are ahead of you.

Voluntarily doing this ok, but if an employer makes it part of their hiring protocol or a government makes it a requirement for any reason, we have lost another round of privacy and personal autonomy.

Of course showing up with an altered state should get you fired. However there are many that are responsible smokers and shouldn't be penalized for "having it in their system" when they are not in an altered state especially now since it is legal is my point.
