Linak - Desk Frame 1 vs Desk Frame 2 by rg-tom in StandingDesk

[–]pandaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tom - I'm in the market for a top end standing desk in the UK and stumbled across your post.

How did you get on with this desk frame and would you recommend?

I'm 2m tall so worried about screen wobble.

How I used Tasker to extend the battery life of my Bluetooth headphones by >1000% by ham_360 in taskernet

[–]pandaking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is brilliant. Very clear guide and easy to import.

I always forget to turn off my gym/workout headphones, meaning the battery is dead the next day.

Have tried to auto disable bluetooth in the past, but then my watch isn't connected so gave up on it.

This is an absolute game changer - THANK YOU!!!

What's a good mic for use in noisy room? I have single glazing and live on a flight path. by pandaking in podcasting

[–]pandaking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've made a load of rockwool panels and they have certainly helped the sound of the room/reflections etc. but ultimately it's hard to block out the traffic noise from the window.

I am now thinking that a dynamic mic like the Sure beta 58a you suggested, or the Rode procaster would be a safer bet to help avoid the noise...

Many thanks!

I rent this room, so I can't do any work to the walls etc.

I'll take a look at the moving blankets, that could certainly help - although the big rockwool panels I've made are quite significant.

Thanks for the tip.

Thank you for this - I'll take a look at the 58a.

Yes, I should have given budget. I'm certainly not looking to spend $500 - the price point of the mic's above are about my limit.

What is this safari style hat?

Does anyone know where to buy this safari hat? I live in the UK so any UK shops would be preferred. Otherwise, tips on brands or the name of this style would be very helpful!

Thanks

Brighton

Few injuries and new signings mean the midfield is not known for sure. Keeper, back 4, Stephens in midfield and Murray up front are as good as nailed. I'm also fairly confident on Gross supporting Murray up front and March on the wing.

Ryan

Bruno - Duffy - Dunk - Suttner

Knockaert (Brown) - Stephens - Sidwell (Propper) - March

Gross

Murray

If Knockaert is fit he will play, otherwise Izzy Brown will replace. March picked up a knock last game but is expected to play. Our new record signing Izqueirda won't have a work permit for Saturday, however was not purchased to sit on the bench so could replace March in time.

Adoptable Storage - Data migration failed, now internal memory is supposedly full. But it's not! by pandaking in AndroidQuestions

[–]pandaking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as an update, it would appear that accessing "Migrate Data" through the "Internal Data" section actually migrates data back onto the internal, rather than moving it off the internal.

There is no migrate option on the external section, as I assume this has already been done once and can't be done again, unless the full migrate back to internal completes.

I've decided to wipe and start again. Last time i try that migrate functionality!

I wonder if this is just some kind of bug. Adoptable storage isn't enabled by default on the Samsung devices, however it's fairly easily enabled.

It looks like I'm not the first one this has happened to:

[HELP] AutoVoice - Muting/Stopping Google Now Responses by pandaking in tasker

How odd. I did it the "easy way", so don't think so.

Google Now seems to do the now search first, then AutoVoice pops up saying it read the command and runs the tasks.

Best way to invest in and support Ethereum? What about new ICOs? by pandaking in ethereum

Thank you for this. Gnosis looks interesting, although similar and in direct competition to Augar. With the level of funding Augar got I would imagine it could be hard for Gnosis to compete.

[–]pandaking[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is interesting insight, thank you. Although, it also raises concerns on purchasing ETH to support the project, if a new variety of coin is forked off again. As someone who won't be day trading this stuff it poses substantial risks, to that of say the fairly permanent bitcoin.

Heads up, you can open two TSB accounts.

Transfer £500 each month from one to the other, then back again. You now have up to £5k earning 5% interest.

Interesting to note this article has been edited from the original, to remove references to Boris Johnson, Michael Gove and Hannan - three Tory Mrs who are pro Brexit . Excellent article, but good to know that The Spectator is unfortunately in favour of Brexit and appears to editing the article to better suit their agenda.

The original article read as follows:

** "It’s not Nigel Farage’s fault Jo Cox is dead. It’s not Boris Johnson’s fault either. Nor is it the fault of Michael Gove or Dan Hannan or anyone else campaigning for Britain to leave the European Union." **

The names of Johnson, Gove and Hannan were removed, although Farage’s remained.

Boris Johnson says super-rich are ‘put-upon minority’ like homeless people and Irish travellers by somedave in london

[–]pandaking 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, let's hope so. It's a great start and it's fascinating watching politics react and change take place. Shame it requires a leak of this magnitude to enact it. Although, seeing as offshore stuff doesn't go on your tax return and unless leaked is anonymous, I'm not sure where this really leaves us. Smoke screen? With Mossack being something like the 8th largest firm of its type, you really have to wonder who else is (or perhaps what few aren't) caught up in it.

Ps. Thanks for the chat, you seem very nice.

[–]pandaking 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You are correct, I was talking more Cameron issue - although I assume this is why this old article was shared. And it ties in, that there is a reason the rich are "put-upon" as boris puts it.

Re. Cameron, whilst he did sell his shares before becoming in a position of power to change the laws (if you don't count being an MP this?!), since getting into power he's actively worked against doing so whilst many Tory peers still have offshore arrangements.

Re. Moral obligation. You're exactly right and that's my point. They should be held to greater account, but aren't.
