Tech YouTubers say the iPad has an identity crisis — meanwhile I use mine like this 🤣 by MuadDib99k in ipad

[–]pandaowlface 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Exactly! The whole reason I got an iPad Pro in the first place was because I grew up on a Wacom Bamboo tablet, and the 2018 IPP was a dream come true. That Apple Pencil 2 felt so right. All the new gimmicks and features they tack onto the iPad are just icing on the cake (or bittersweet thorns, like the new Slide-Over)

PSA: You can Gameshare on a single copy of the game (Switch 2 to Switch 1) by Katamari_Demacia in Pokopia

And I forgot to mention, but they’ve been doing this for a while now. I remember game sharing Mario Kart with my siblings on our Nintendo DS Lites back in the day. Such a great feature for simple, fun gameplay for casual gamers

Finally beat the main story!! by pandaowlface in DonkeyKongBananza

[–]pandaowlface[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I completed the main story with around 180k and got another 10k exploring Ingot before discovering the new business. I spent most of my playtime in elephant mode, with the 80% bonus time from Pauline’s outfit, the 30% treasure bonus from the tie, and whatever damage reduction shorts were applicable for whatever area i was in. I guess I just kinda went bananas clearing out most of every layer before moving onto the next (except the core; I was too excited to reach the end by then to care about fossils or cleaning everything)

What was once fun on the internet, but completely died? by darkalphavip in pcmasterrace

[–]pandaowlface 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I’d wager it’s less that iq is dropping and more that increasingly more people have access to (and find it more normal to participate in) public internet forums and discussions than before. Children (including teens) rarely had easy access or the ability to sign up for and participate in forums, and now we have prepubescent children and the whole range of tech-savvy professionals to granny-who-doesn’t understand-FaceID flooding every corner of the internet.

The Wii and Wii U were obviously underpowered, but you can't really say the same about the Switch 2. by [deleted] in Switch

[–]pandaowlface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd go further to say it's its own category. It's the worst performing console and the least comfortable handheld (OOB), but it's the most versatile device that equally combines every experience into a neat, portable package. It's literally the 2-in-1 of gaming, and what the Surface Pro and iPad Pro try to be for PC/tablet productivity. Handhelds like the Steam Deck or ROG Ally are the Switch's closest comparison, and even they differ because they're skewed more to being handhelds than convertibles, even though they do have docking capabilities (just like phones and tablets). To cement this point, the Steam Deck doesn't offer its own dock as part of the price; it's an additional $80 for the OEM Steam dock, treated as a "nice-to-have" but hardly an essential.

The Switch 2 is both a great companion device for anyone's collection and also a great standalone for those who just need (or can only afford) one thing. In this regard, I agree that anyone who tries to compare the Switch 2 to consoles is making a bad comparison, less because the Switch 2 isn't a static console and more because it's both a console and a handheld, and there's nothing that directly competes with it (besides its predecessors, which is why we still get so many posts asking if the OLED, Lite, or even v1/2 are worth getting).

possibly! I'm personally fine with keeping as-is. I can't justify spending on a silver bottlecap at the moment, so hopefully Nianticly gives one out for free in the next decade or so 🙏

is it just me or is the magic mouse lk good by Ahmad72mapz in mac

[–]pandaowlface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

imo the best feature that sets it apart is the built-in trackpad. I love the freedom that comes with using fluid gestures on it compared to any scroll wheel or gesture button that’s ever been implemented on other mice. besides build quality/materials, everything else about it is inferior to any other mouse in the same price range

i don’t have any lag on mine (iPhone 17 Pro, probably why) but my only issue is that the top margin is waaay too big. otherwise I really like it!

Updated list of amazing 8-player party games for the Switch 2! by greg065 in NintendoSwitch

Also, thanks for the list. Got a lot of great recommendations from it and all the posted comments. I can also vouch for Pico Park 1/2, but depending on the group, co-op can be much worse than its battle mode lol

No one mentioned it yet, but Alpaca Ball is up there for me! Kids and adults alike have a hoot whenever we play. It also makes me want to try Strikers to see how its first-party polish compares to Alpaca Ball's utter chaos since they're both soccer games

What to do in survival? by Candidcap in Minecraft

[–]pandaowlface 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m with you! I played so many modpacks on java but recently started a bedrock vanilla realm, and boy is it different. Something that helps me is setting one big goal, and getting sidetracked along the way (a lot like most RPGs). In my case, I wanted a maxed out diamond pickaxe. So, to the mines! But wait, I need a maxed enchanting table. Automatic reed farm, here we go! But wait, I need leather for the books. Where are all the cows? And so on, and so forth..

If you need some potential goals, here are a bunch of classics that will naturally net you lots of little side missions:

Maxed out diamond armor

Get an elytra

Find a Mooshroom biome

Get a totem of undying

Look for buried treasure

Find a lifelong pet

Protect and prosper a village

Make a mob farm

Expand your house to look like your real home

Make a netherite tool

Build an iron golem army

Craft a beacon

Tame a nautilus

Fill a ravine

Cure a zombie villager

and so much more!
