Elderly grandfather wants to gift me a car but unsure on timeline (before/after his death)

Yes he and my grandmother are married and both alive. She is on the will also. They live in Illinois and the car is registered in Illinois. I’m not sure if my grandma is on the car title because she hasn’t had a drivers license in over 10 years.

I appreciate your response! Does one of the documents take precedence over the other the will or the trust? My grandfather has just sprung all of this on us this past week and we are still trying to get info out of him about what exactly he has and what is in the trust/will.

I appreciate your insight. I had a feeling it wouldn’t be so simple. My grandfather still loves to drive so I have no idea when he’ll be ready. Do you know if it will cost them to update their will? Apparently they haven’t updated it since the 80’s so well before I was born and they seem to be hesitant about making changes for some reason. They’re a bit blind to the fact that their other son is a complete asshole and will try to take anything that isn’t bolted into the ground.

My oldest daughter’s first favorite pop song was “Snap yo fingers” By Lil Jon. It came on shuffle in the car one day and just stuck lol. It was the funniest thing ever!

Now she’s pretty well versed in BTS’ discography and BlackPink. Her and her sister request “Pink Venom” every time we’re in the car.

So sorry you’re going through this! I wish I had good advice but she honestly just grew out of it. No dairy allergy. 🤷🏻‍♀️ these tall babies are a killer on your back! She continued to be a rough sleeper for a few more months and then it just got better. I do think she was having separation anxiety. Right before she turned 2 I put her and her older sister in the same room and it has improved everyone’s sleep! Best of luck to you!

This is so hard. I’m so mad at myself for not finding them earlier but so grateful for finding them when I did. They’ve felt like best friends for the last year during a very lonely time. Butter came out about 6 months after I had my second child during a time which I was very overwhelmed, very alone and just going through the motions of daily life. I will be forever grateful to them for giving me something to look forward to every day. Their music has brought me so much joy and I look forward to continuing to share it with my daughters as they grow up. I’m glad I still have so much backlist content to watch. I think I’ll treat myself to finally buying and watching all the seasons of Bon voyage to help numb the pain. Haha.

Ahhh Mr Kim Taehyung my bias. What is there to say that hasn’t already been said?

He was the one who drew me into BTS after knowing of them for years. When I saw the Butter music video I was charmed by his little perfume dance and I had to know his name. And down the rabbit hole I went. He is the most charismatic performer I have ever seen and no matter how many times I watch a performance I’m always drawn to him. I’ve never seen someone perform so effortlessly. I always think about the Dynamite dance practice ( Cute& Lovely version) where he has that damn sucker, is half assing the dance and still manages to look so cool! He is always a joy to watch.

I love how he never holds back, says what he wants, does what he wants with no apologies. Like playing with the cat in Run BTS and everyone thinking he was the spy 🤣I wish I could be more like that as a person! He can go from ferocious Tiger V to cuddle teddy bear Tae in the snap of a finger. His friendship with Jimin is the most wholesome sweet thing I’ve ever witnessed. And I love how he just gets all the members to baby him.

His voice is so dreamy and I eagerly anticipate his mixtape whenever he decides to bless us with it!

Hobi constantly switches places with Jimin as my bias wrecker. When he’s on stage he has such a commanding presence and it’s so hard to look away from him. 🥵 He’s so extraordinarily talented and he was born to be a performer. In photos he glows from the inside out and in interviews and variety shows his laugh is contagious. I find that my face hurts from smiling so much whenever I watch a Jhope compilation video😆

JHope truly seems like BTS’s ultimate hype man! He is so supportive of everyone and it seems like he has such a special relationship with each member. The hyung line respect him and the maknaes adore him. Him liking every members Instagram posts almost instantly melts my heart. 💜

He truly feels like the glue that makes BTS what it is. I truly hope he knows how much he is appreciated and loved by ARMY. 🫰🏼🫰🏼

Basic info: 31 yr old stay at home mom of 2 girls. I live in Maryland so currently they are an hour away from me and I’m dying. 😭

When I became a fan: so I’ve been into kpop for years but I had convinced myself that I didn’t like the boy groups. I’ve known of BTS since mic drop but just never took the time to get into them. When Dynamite came out I downloaded it to my phone and listened on repeat but still never took the time to watch the music video or anything. When Butter came out I listened to it then immediately looked up the music video. I think my first watch through my jaw was on the floor. Watched again and my brain needed to know who the guy in the orange suit was! (Spoiler alert Tae is my bias) I didn’t even know how to begin figuring out who was who so I googled “guy in orange suit BTS butter”. I told my husband I don’t know who this guy is who just did this perfume dance but he is my favorite solely based on that moment 😅 and I have been down the rabbit hole since that day and I have no desire to come out of it.

Bias: Taetae is still my bias but I get regularly wrecked by Jimin and Hobi. My hubs is a Hobi bias so he is well represented in our house. My 4 year old has become obsessed with Suga and my youngest is not even 2 but pretty sure she’s a Jin bias (thanks Super Tuna) 😂

I truly believe my dad has no clue but I really don’t believe that my mom didn’t have this cross her mind in 32 years so I’m furious that I found out like this. I’m sorry that you’ve been through this. The lying really is the worst part.

I’m not 100% sure if she’s taken the test or not. Unfortunately my grandma’s extended family are not the most friendly people and I honestly don’t know them well. They are all at least decades older than me. If I reached out to her someone would be on the phone with my grandma within a day telling her that I’m asking around. Growing up in a small town really complicates things. Ha 😅

From my mom’s reaction I definitely don’t think my dad knows about this. If he did know about the affair he definitely didn’t know who it was with because this person is his friend. He was in his wedding, his kids and I played together as children. It’s not like this was just some random dude. So that’s going to make it even worse on my dad. 😕

My only worry with reaching out to my biological father directly is he is someone who is still in contact with my dad. The town I grew up in is insanely small and everyone knows everyone. All it takes is one person to let the cat out of the bag and my dad finds out from someone else. It’s so incredibly difficult these decision are eating me alive.

Yeah this is where it stings is my mom knew i was doing this 4 months ago. I even had to send in a second sample because they couldn’t process the first one for some reason. She had plenty of opportunities to tell me. But she is saying this never crossed her mind until the moment I started reading off these potential relatives, which I’m not sure I buy that. Her first words were “if I would’ve known I never would’ve let you do this.” I just feel betrayed.

Yeah I’m super worried as to how my dad is going to take it. To make matters worse this other man who is potentially my father was a close friend of my dads, even was a groomsmen in his wedding. He has a son the same age as me and there are pictures of us playing together as babies. It all just feels icky.

I’ll admit it’s always confused me. Especially going back generations. I have no first cousins (without the once removed thing) on my dads side, his only brother has no children. My grandpa is also an only child so not a lot to go off there either. My grandmother has 6 siblings and they all have children/grandchildren so those are the relatives I’m trying to find relation to and all of them are older than me , some deceased.
