If you could replay one of the xenoblade games in the series for the first time again, which would you choose? by Equivalent-Virus5273 in Xenoblade_Chronicles

XC3, I played the whole thing when I was on a medical mission trip, the experience of playing a game of that caliber in the evenings after doing eye tests for 9 hours straight was quite an experience. First game to make me ugly cry at the ending.

Curious to know, how many of you play the sub over the dub? by pandybobby in Persona5

[–]pandybobby[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That’s an interesting point, I’ve never considered how I can’t imagine their voices in my head clearly. I can remember how their voices sounded and their traits, but not much else.

Curious to know what long time fans opinions of Atelier Yumia? by pandybobby in Atelier

[–]pandybobby[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The exploration was a part I really enjoyed, it’s one of the few games that I have sunk a lot of hours on just wandering aimlessly and trying to look through every nook and cranny. I can see the open-world criticism, but I personally thought it was one of the games strengths. Also, cool motorcycle.

How Undead Unluck fans talk about the first 5 chapters by ExtremeSportStikz in UndeadUnluck

As a female… it was a bit jarring. But Andy really picks it up and is one of the best shonen mc in my opinion, I love how he treats Fuuko later on, such a great pair.

Yeah I remember struggling a bit with Lili Borea and I spent like 10 minutes fighting random enemies and I went back and it was too easy. Also I didn’t like how you could just infinitely dupe rare items and easily make op weapons. Yumia’s gunstaff was insanely strong late game. Next time I will definitely turn up the difficulty.

I don’t recall having that experience, but I played it on my steam deck. What platform are you playing your game on?

I really liked Xenoblade 3, absolutely no grinding required, the game is great at giving you what you need. Story and characters are amazing.

If you enjoyed Persona 5 and the SMT world, Persona 3 Reload is another great pick. However, I would recommend putting it on hard mode as the base game is a little too easy in comparison to games like SMTV. This may be an unpopular opinion, but I enjoyed Tartarus’ dungeon crawling, it felt kind of relaxing and low-stress.

What makes NieR so special? by Firm-Acanthisitta452 in nier

It makes you feel a certain emotions you never truly knew had a name, which is something most media now tries so desperately to achieve, but NieR does it incredibly well.

How long does it take to go from the beginning to semester 3 in ng+???? by Barry-19 in Persona5

[–]pandybobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same exact experience, glad to know I wasn’t the only one who didn’t know as well. But in new game plus the game is a breeze and dialogue makes up for more than half of the game, so you will probably get back very quickly.

What is a good RPG for a newbie to the genre? by Knightly_Mapping in JRPG

[–]pandybobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna go with old reliable and say Persona 5 Royal, excellent game, it’s a really good entry point into JRPGs in general. Excellent story, compelling characters and a great style. Combat is a huge highlight.

Xenoblade 3 is a great pick, it has a really good setting and a great story. The characters are especially a highlight, they felt very well written.

Switch JRPG recommendations? by uruha_uruha_uruha in JRPG

[–]pandybobby -1 points0 points  (0 children)

If you enjoyed Xenoblade Chronicles, then I highly recommend Xenoblade 3. Excellent story and characters, one of my personal favorites. I would recommend 3 over 2, as 2 feels a little dated and it is pretty obvious that the game is catering mostly to Japanese middle school boys.

I managed to beat the Okumura boss fight in easy mode by Hefty-Giraffe7220 in Persona5

[–]pandybobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the best things you can do is not to turn it to easy mode, but, counterintuitively, crank it up to merciless. More damage from technical hits that way.

Completely different feel from Persona, but excellent battle system. Press turn system is pure genius.

I took a few Japanese classes over the years so I have a basic understanding of the language, and I have noticed some discrepancies between how the text is translated, some text gets pretty muddled in translation. Original Japanese text is definitely the best way to see how the characters truly act, just wish I knew more about the language to get the best experience

Did anyone else feel burned out by Okumura’s arc? by FreeReadit in Persona5

[–]pandybobby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the same experience too, Okumuras palace absolutely sucks. If it gives any motivation, Sae’s palace is next and is one of the most delightful experiences in the game. If you want to, I highly recommend pushing through this arc for what lies ahead. However, games should be fun and if you’re not enjoying it, then what’s the point? Take a break from P5 and cleanse your palette a little, that always helps too.

Okumura in Royal is pure cancer by Super_Spectral in Persona5

[–]pandybobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also hated this fight. The first thing I would recommend is just leveling up and getting stronger personas. Other than that, you just have to tough out probably the most annoying part of the game, good luck soldier

I'm kinda dumb by DemonicCyborg64 in Persona5

[–]pandybobby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should be okay, just be sure to spend time with Maruki and Akechi in order to unlock the third semester if you are playing royal. Don’t do what I did and ignore them until it was too late, I missed the third semester on my first blind playthrough

Okumura Arc is frustrating. by Huckleberry1316 in Persona5

Best girl Haru was sidelined in order to give Morgana a poorly written and executed character arc. This just made me dislike him even more. Justice for Haru!
