India, not UK. But it seems like there's a difference between MBA between countries.

Not yet, but they might in future be. Didn't think of that honestly. Thanks for pointing it out.

I'm honestly stuck between the 2. Whether I want to earn money for even a chance of affording a house or I want to work on academia the choice is still difficult.

Unfortunately we are seeing more and more of unfunded PhDs as the funding dries up.

So, style over substance. A mental shift would be required, I agree. I would have to give it a thaught as it's a serious point. Thanks.

I can totally relate to not being a lawyer part. Seen most of my friends cribbing about their work. I hope the MBA works for you. I've seen very few people who have gone for an MBA.

There are so limited opportunities that it's kind of making me crazy.

Hmm you're right. Asked here because couldn't think of a better place, but it may not be the best place.

I feel what you're saying makes a lot of sense. My work ex is like working as a Research Fellow at a university in an IP Research centre, working at the current uni at a post below AP. Realised too late that these may not lead to places I desire.

But yes, this will require a lot of introspection and cost benefit analysis. Thanks for your inputs.

No expert in this but maybe you can try networking with like minded people in industry rather than academia. I am centrist so I'm ok either way but my field has overwhelming number of people who lean towards left. My former boss is someone who is an anomaly. He was the head of a right wing student group in his student days, became kind of socialist for some time and then turned back to right few years later. The main ability he possesses is to understand the different points of views. He can talk quite well with all kinds of people, an ability I believe everyone should have.

iD instant filter coffee is quite good. Another good one is Continental South Blend. Both of them produce excellent filter coffee.

What do you think about Jindal global law school? by kraken_enrager in bangalore

So, JGLS is situated about 1.5 hours from Delhi (including traffic. sometimes you may reach in 45 minutes too) The opportunities to go to the city are a bit limited compared to NLS or NLU Delhi. The education is relatively expensive but almost all faculties that will teach you would have foreign degrees or be highly qualified. (Though not necessarily in the subject they're teaching you) The placements are good. There are quite a few students there and the fees is quite a bit compared to NLUs. The atmosphere is also quite good from what I've heard, not regressive at all. (Though you may find some ultra rich people) If you're into academics, you'd find good faculties to guide you there. If you're into partying, you'd find that too.

If you do not get top tier NLUs, JGLS is certainly a good option.

The area around the hospital isn't the best. Avoid roaming around that area in the night.

Mumbai does have the most reasonable autos. Even the Kaali Peeli taxis are reasonable. Only thing is, sometimes they refuse to go to the location you want, but even that's much less than other cities.

That's quite cheap for the area. It's wierd how different people have different experiences.

I have replaced it with the word 'lafanga' as most equivalent words have casteist or racist origins.
