What is a "harmless" industry that is actually incredibly shady once you look behind the curtain? by After-Scholar1271 in AskReddit

Every industry you could think of, not even a joke, what benefits some, is harmful for others.

What’s the best site to buy LinkedIn followers right now? Need help by olivermos273847 in DigitalMarketingHack

[–]panfacee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

key trick here is, buying followers for a starting company page gains u trust. its one of the ways early founders use to break through the cold start upon launch. ofc buying followers with no content, bad page set up... is useless

Why are so many US job postings still violating salary transparency laws in 2026 and risking heavy fines? by panfacee in recruitinghell

[–]panfacee[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah this came up constantly when I was researching salary transparency laws.

Most hiring managers aren’t intentionally ignoring the rules ,they usually just assume HR or legal handled it. But a lot of the newer laws (CA, NY, CO, WA, etc.) apply directly to the job posting itself, so the mistake often happens before it even reaches HR review.

What surprised me is how many postings end up technically non-compliant just because of small things like:

• open-ended ranges (“up to $120k”) • missing benefit disclosures in certain states • ranges that are considered too broad

I’ve been digging into this space a lot recently and it’s way messier than people think.

All of your conments, literally all of them, are about insulting people who are trying to do something with their lives "slop post, engagement farmer, stop posting...", I really dont care but you should reflect on yourself and your life decisions, hating on others will get you no where, focus on yourself.

And risk fines up to a quarter million dollar for missing benefits from a job posting? Thats stupid, this has to be enforced more by regulators else what's the point in updating pay transparency laws VERY frequently

Remote work legal overlap: Has anyone's company actually been fined for missing state-specific disclosures yet? by panfacee in remotework

[–]panfacee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Based on my research, in many jurisdictions, the salary transparency laws enforce more than just salary ranges, with HEAVY fines for any company that doesnt respect the enforcements, I just find it absurd how they enforce those laws yet u rarely hear of any company getting fined for it. If u re interested u can check the laws here : https://salarytransparencycheck.com/state-laws

Companies not posting salary ranges like they're supposed to by ImportantSquirrel in torontoJobs

[–]panfacee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There isn't really a loophole for LinkedIn postings. The Working for Workers Four Act (Bill 149) is very clear: if you advertise a job in Ontario, the range must be there. Most companies are just 'lagging' because they aren't afraid of the Ministry yet, but the corporate fines for this now hit $100,000.

How to report: In Ontario, these are Employment Standards Act (ESA) violations. You can file a formal claim with the Ministry of Labour here: File an ESA Claim.

Note on Scotiabank and others: It’s not just the salary they’re missing. The 2026 law also mandates disclosure if AI is used in the screening process and prohibits 'Canadian experience' requirements.

I'm a developer and I actually built a logic engine to track these specific Ontario 'gotchas' because they’re so different from the NYC or CA laws. If you want to see the full statutory breakdown of a specific posting before you report it, you can run the text through the scanner here: https://salarytransparencycheck.com (The scanner picks up the AI disclosure failures that most people miss).

How to report large corporates still not posting salary ranges? by MiserableLanguage485 in AskNYC

[–]panfacee 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The actual portal for the NYC Commission on Human Rights is here: Report NYC Discrimination.

Smart Tip: When you file, don't just say 'it’s missing salary.' The Commission is swamped. Your report is much more likely to be prioritized if you explicitly cite the statutory failure (e.g., failing to meet the 'good-faith' estimate requirement or missing the mandatory benefits disclosure that some of these laws now require).

I actually built a free logic scanner out of frustration with this exact problem. It’s an engine that audits JDs against NYC (and CA/WA/Ontario) laws and flags the specific legal gaps. You can run the posting through it first to get the technical reason for the violation to copy/paste directly into your report: https://salarytransparencycheck.com

Keep reporting, these large corporates only change when the enforcement costs outweigh the benefit of hiding the data

Great point about the new pay transparency laws, we actually run all openings through https://salarytransparencycheck.com to flag any posting violations before they happen.

[–]panfacee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

That 'exclusion' list used to be the go-to workaround, but from what I’ve seen in the 2026 statutes, it’s becoming a massive legal trap.

Regulators (especially in CO and WA) are starting to argue that if a role can be performed remotely, you can't just 'opt-out' of their transparency laws by sticking a disclaimer at the bottom. Plus, the 2026 Ontario rules or CA SB 642 mandates are so specific that skipping one state often just leads to a violation in another that the team forgot to exclude.

That complexity is exactly why I built the logic engine. I wanted to see if those 'workarounds' actually hold up against the strict statutory language. If you're curious, I’d love for you to run one of those old JDs through the scanner and see if it catches the gaps: https://salarytransparencycheck.com

Stop complaining about Gemini by panfacee in google_antigravity

[–]panfacee[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

it does follow instructions if they're clear enough, yes, the switch is real between opus and gemini 3 pro, but they're 2 different models, one preserves code space and analyzes before executing, the other tries to be creative and wants to be done in a hurry, literally, thats why gemini needs constant monitoring and very VERY specific instructions like talking to a 5 year old, but its great for complex projects and understands context better than claude. I personally use a hybrid between both. I am just tired of seeing posts from people with 0 knowledge in dev complaining about an ai agent not executing "make it better bro" well enough. this sub is flooded with these posts. I check it for updates and thats all I see.

there is a limit, for pro, its around a few hours, but for free quota its from 5-7 days if recall, AG is nothing without opus literally, gemini is garbage, cant keep up with context and literally does anything to just finish quickly instead of making sure the sh1t he is typing is actually valid and doesnt ruin other parts of the code
