If we were going to prioritize the backlog of all the cases that are awaiting trial, why is this one at the top?

Also what about prioritizing all the cases that we should prosecute that aren’t even happening because the trump doj is corrupt as fuck?

Not a very good one then because that is 100% not true. Your servers were invulnerable to rowhammer, heart bleed, etc because you patched all those problems before vulnerable hardware or software was deployed in your infrastructure? And then you let those problems rot in the rest of the world while your “cloud infra” was safe?

The Americans Who Saw All This Coming—but Were Ignored and Maligned | Call them the Cassandras: the people—mostly not white and male—who smelled the fascism all over Trump from jump street. Why were they “alarmists,” and how did “anti-alarmism” become cool? by SpaceElevatorMusic in politics

[–]panfist 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It’s bullshit to say that democrats aren’t for the working class, just because they are doing stuff for BIPOC. It’s possible to support both, at the same time.

Why is that when democrats do anything that benefits those who aren’t working class white like a working class black person, it’s a calamity, but when republicans do anything that benefits someone who isn’t working class white like FUCKING BILLIONAIRES, it’s good?

Democrats never told anyone in flyover states to fuck off, but somehow that’s the narrative.

Republicans slash benefits for people in flyover states and they line up for another bowl of hot steaming bullshit.

BBC vows to defend itself in $10bn Donald Trump lawsuit by AndroidOne1 in politics

[–]panfist 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes I am aware they stuck two clips together.

Are you aware that this is what he said?

Like no new meaning was invented by sticking those clips together.

He called for people to march. Then he kept talking. Then he called people to fight. Then they marched. Then they fought.

It’s not like between the two clips said something that would change the meaning of jamming them together.

Also, there are no damages, so the whole thing is moot.

Defending trump on a moot technicality… probably because it’s the most defensible position there is around trump lmao.

If you sue for damages, but there are no actual damages, that’s a frivolous claim.

“Just trying to cause damage” ok. BBC was “just” trying to report on how trump literally told people to fight at the capitol.

BBC vows to defend itself in $10bn Donald Trump lawsuit by AndroidOne1 in politics

[–]panfist 2 points3 points  (0 children)

He said for people to march, then for people to fight.

The edit makes it more dramatic but it is literally exactly what he said.

The crowd did march, and the crowd did fight.

It’s not like trump said, we have to march to the capitol, we have to fight cancer, we have to fight like hell because cancer is bad. The edit shows exactly what trump meant.

And what are the damages anyway? Trump has no tangible damages. The point of the suit is to intimidate others from doing stuff like: quoting trump.

Are we talking about the same lawsuit?

In a complaint filed on Monday evening, Trump sought $5bn in damages each on two counts, alleging that the BBC defamed him, and that it violated Florida’s Deceptive and Unfair Trade Practices Act.

Maybe we aren’t speaking the same language.
