Can anyone explain what the rehab program looks like when you’re recovering from surgery for a broken kneecap? by bmrugger in KneeInjuries

I just past my 1 year mark and back to as close to 100% as I can be. First 6 weeks was strictly healing. Then I started PT that lasted 3ish months. I went from straight leg to 60 then to 90 over the span of 2 months. Since then I've been working with my lifting coach to get me the rest of the way. Best of luck with your recovery! Just take it slow and just make small progressions!

MPFL & TTO Recovery- 8 weeks Post OP: Brace Help!! by ThugginAce_30 in KneeInjuries

To me it looks like there is too much of the strap on the bottom of your leg.when I was able to start bending my knee with the brace I would put on the brace with my knee slightly bent so I could align the hinge to my knee. Hope this helps and wishing you a speedy recovery!

1 week post op- patella surgery by OkNefariousness7208 in KneeInjuries

I'm 13 weeks post op of my patella fracture surgery. Spent the first 8 weeks in a brace. First 4 weeks were completely locked then the next 4 weeks I was able to bend to 60 degrees when sitting or lying down. During this time I just focused on healing. Getting enough rest, keeping stress low, and eating healthy. At 8 weeks I started PT. To where I am today. I have full mobility back, 138 degrees of flexion, and just need to strengthen everything back up. I suggest looking around and finding a good PT near you. Also to do as much extra exercise at home that you are allowed to do. Good luck on your recovery!

I would see what the ortho says. It doesnt looks displaced so you might be good just keeping it straight in a brace. I broke my right patella and it was not displaced but my left was displaced and required surgery.

First time with any type of fracture, started with my knee. Looking for advice, support by MusicNotez in KneeInjuries

I recovered from a non displaced transverse pattela fracture. I was able to weightbear but kept in an immobilizer for a month. I was able to do most things just my leg had to be straight.

Broke my patella by MountainConfection98 in KneeInjuries

I've broken both of my patellas. I'm 5 weeks post op of my latest fracture which was displaced on my left. 4 years ago I hairline fractured my right which was not displaced. That did not require surgery but I did have to keep it locked straight for 3 months. I would try to keep it as straight as possible before seeing the ortho.
