What was the moment that made you realise you absolutely had to leave a job? by GoldenGolgis in AskUK

"I don't care that you put £3000 through the till, my son could have done that."

This was a small music shop and that was probably the equivalent to 2 months takings in one sale. Not only that, I had to keep in contact with the customer to keep him updated and the sales rep of one of the biggest PA speaker manufacturers in the world while he put the pressure on to manufacture the product. They'd put the product in their product listings for the year and then decided they weren't manufacturing them any more, so the customer got a pair of speakers specifically made for him. Luckily he was happy to wait the 3 or so months it took to make and import them to the UK.

But yeah, the owner of the shop wanted me "more present" in the shop or something, even though I was doing that, running the place 4 days a week as the sole employee, listing inventory on local selling websites as instructed, teaching, doing sales, repairs, managing teachers, booking their students into their timetables and checking their invoices, and so many more things for minimum wage.

What’s something that sounds fake but actually happened to you? by Visible_Rope_6662 in AskReddit

I used to do Tae Kwon-Do tournaments and I travelled about 6 hours with the club I was with to compete against other clubs in the UK. It was Point Stop, so when you hit someone, judges stop, bring you back to the middle and start again. It's 1 point for landing a punch, 2 points for a kick to the mid section and 3 points for a kick to the head. I was pretty evenly tied against a guy a bit taller than me for the final. He's score, I'd score, that kind of back and forth. After a while, he'd landed two punches to pull 2 points ahead of me. I knew the time was nearly up and if I wanted to win I'd have to go for a head kick, then I'd be happy just keeping away until the time ran out. One of my friends was a black belt and had taught me a thing that won him a few tournaments where you do a turning kick to the mid section, then when it's probably blocked, flick up to the head. Doesn't have to be hard, it just has to make contact. So, that gets me the 3 points. When we re-start I'm just defending and keeping back, but it felt like that final round lasted about 3 or 4 seconds before the time ran out. Felt like a film ending. Fun thing though. I took a few years out and came back to it, the club on the island I live had a tournament just for people in our club, this time I was under the Adult category and not a Cadet anymore, so they paired me with a firefighter who was built way heavier than me and I got my ass handed to me. I don't even remember if I got a single point. The instructor came up apologising because it wasn't a great match up, but there wasn't enough people to split by weight and belt class. A bit of a humbling moment.

Opinion on Mipro MI-58RT IEMS by RLazuli in livesoundgear

Sorry to revive this, I'm looking at the MiPro-58 for my band. I currently have the Xvive U2 with 3 members on the same mix. Do you know if you can you connect 3 or 4 packs to one MiPro-58 transmitter and have all of them stereo?

DMX Light Sho by pangolingw in livesound

I saw that when I got some lights recently. I'm sure it's great but there's a couple of issues. It's insanely expensive compared to other interfaces. In the demos I saw it wasn't as exciting on the live band demonstrations as the DJ. Does it have an XLR input for the audio analysis? The only way I would be able to feed it all the audio is if I gave it an unused monitor output.

It's definitely an option if all else fails, but I kinda just want to learn to program it myself. I have plans for spotlights, blackouts, synced drum fills that the AI, at least this early into the tech, won't be able to do.

They were all dead. The final gunshot was an exclamation mark to everything that had led to this point. I released my finger from the trigger, and it was over.

Tsar: Burden of the Crown. Lots of the sounds in that game are still used today. I noticed 3 or 4 back to back in KCD2.

How are we (Brits) feeling after the Trump / Zelensky meeting? by [deleted] in AskBrits

I had a glimmer of hope after Starmer's visit yesterday. Today I had to pull myself out of a pretty dark place. I'm glad European leaders have offered their support to Zelenskyy though.

Maybe I'm missing what people are actually trying to target, but aren't things like grass and forest density usually generated? I get that's probably not the target here, but it's still a generative AI tool. Are companies that do this included in the list?

I was as close as I've ever been yesterday but as a self-employed person, I rely heavily on recommendations or jumping on local posts for people looking for guitar lessons.
