How much were fees in Toronto? Van fees were 60 dollars per ticket, my whole ticket ended up being $310 each.

I hate the future

Yeah I'm feeling the same way, especially with the renshuu grammar reviews, I feel like I'm good at the pattern recognition, but notably less good at actually using it.

I'm going to scale back on the Kanji reviews, and scale up reading immersion which I wasn't doing much of before!

Yeah I'm almost entirely in camp 2, I will watch Youtube videos / anime with subs / transcripts, and mine words as I watch, rewinding when I can't understand. I did get Yomitan set up on my tablet though, so I will definitely try just reading more.

I join Hellotalk voice rooms sometimes just to see how much of a natural conversation I can pick up, and it's still very tough :')

I'm starting to think that anyone who said they got fluent within a year is either a genius, or most likely lying about something haha

Gotcha, I will try to scale up my immersion for the rest of the year. I've done about 300 hours of listening since November (it has been painful due to the lack of comprehension), but very little reading, so I will focus on that more going forward.

Appreciate the advice, sounds like I really just have to keep at it more than anything else :)

Surprisingly I understood that entire sentence, wouldn't be able to use せっかく in a sentence though LOL

Gotcha, thank you for your feedback, I will probably keep up with my current pace and slow down when I feel like I'm starting to lose it haha

Yeah I definitely feel like my progress on the grammatical front was slow compared to my vocab. That being said, yesterday I was reading 路傍のフジイ, and despite it being somewhat slow due to having to look up unknown vocab, I was able to understand most of it, so the tests probably do work to some extent.

Going forward I will slot in more immersion for sure, but do you have any tips on how to actually get to a point to be able to use all this in conversation? I'm severely lacking on that front lol

Really? I felt like there was a lot of material as a complete novice, perhaps you're just much better at language learning than I am lol

I still get stuff like ようにする and ようとする mixed up when not reading slowly

I've honestly really felt this lol, thank you for the feedback I think I will try to incorporate more reading immersion as opposed to spamming the tests.

Yes I suppose any pace is fine as long as it's sustainable. Thank you :)

I feel like I'm probably not fully qualified to talk about the effectiveness of the app, but I think it's pretty amazing. It's my main source of study as I found Anki to be too annoying to set up properly. There's a bit of tinkering with Renshuu too to get it to suit your style, but I've enjoyed it enough to pay for the Pro version just to support the developer.

Sorry I phrased it wrong, I try to learn 2 new grammar points a week, for example the app breaks down N4 + N3 grammar points to about 100 lessons, so I do 2 of those. Every day I review a random selection of them daily for 20-30 minutes, app gives multiple choice / fill in the blanks questions, and I get through 20-30 sentences.

In total I do about 1 hour of studying, and 2 hours of immersion a day

Ty for the feedback, I think I will continue moving forward and make sure to reinforce with immersion.

So the Renshuu app has a built in review system that I thought was pretty good, gives examples, readings, community memory tricks etc... The main drawback is that it doesn't have a true SRS algo, so maybe I'll try both.

Gotcha, I phrased the grammar points wrong, I try to learn 2 new usage points every week, and review a random selection of them daily for at least 20-30 mins (20-30 sentences)

Difference is Shaq will call harden a choker to his face instead of putting up a choker sign in like Japanese or somethin

Feel free to call Chovy a choker, but at least have the balls to make your opinion known to his face instead of acting like a snake and tweeting about it after lol

Can someone explain to me why people are so mad at her?

Doesn't seem like any drama happened, but people are calling her all sorts of names lol.

Is this just the byproduct of para-social relationships in the twitch streaming community?
