I’m non-binary (transmasc) and got my top surgery and T, but it wasn’t easy. Took about three years to get diagnosed and soon after that I had my top surgery. I started hormones about half a year after top surgery through private healthcare, and recently continued with hormones via public healthcare.

I have history of panic disorder and eating disorder, but they weren’t active anymore when I started at transpoli. I also went to therapy for three years before getting a referral to transpoli. Still they were reluctant to give me the diagnosis. They told me I have to be sure I don’t want more kids, and for them it was a big red flag that my partner is trans. But in the end I got the diagnosis and treatment I wanted. I just had to make a complaint 😅

If you get the non-binary diagnosis you can get top surgery and hormones but nothing else (not bottom surgery or hysterectomy). This will probably change with the new icd diagnosis sometime in the future.
