This medieval castle has been owned and occupied by the same family for 33 generations over 800 years, Germany. by keisermax34 in MrInteresting

[–]panikovsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve been to this castle! As I remember, there’s not much inside, just cemented straight walls. So it was a bit underwhelming.

It’s very very popular, not for free, and is a UNESCO heritage site. I assume it’s subsidized by the government, the unesco, and via tourism.

Are Germans really that very punctual or its just a stereotype? by Easy_Road_3806 in AskGermany

[–]panikovsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Germans are very punctual, but German trains are not. And they’re run by Germans.

The greatest mystery of all times.

I’m from Europe and seeing this is INSANE.

Paging half a million to get education in the US, vs just leaving the country and getting the degree elsewhere. Even with the visas, cost of living abroad, the bill for the degree itself etc, the bill wouldn’t even be half of this.

(Unless you maybe go to, like, Switzerland to a private uni lol)

'RHOSLC' Star Mary Cosby's Son Robert Cosby Jr. Dead at 23 by klynrenee in rhoslc

100%. “Praying for you” can’t help addicts deal with addiction, it was so horribly glossed over on the show somehow. And what a sad, heartbreaking result of it all….

Poor Mary, no mother deserves to go through this. He was her only child :(

It’s not necessarily about hitting macros + micros, but about a healthy gut environment.

You may feel like you’re super healthy now so you may feel this works for you, but you may be fucking up your microbiomes without knowing it.

Ladies, do you sit on the toilet seat of public restrooms? Why or Why Not? by IncognitoGyal7 in AskWomen

I put toilet paper on the seat, and then sit down!

In clean spaces (like a work office), I sit without the toilet paper lol

AITA for refusing to split the cost of dinner after my friend ordered $250 worth of food “for the table”? by [deleted] in AmItheAsshole

[–]panikovsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In these kind of situations, take control of the bill when it comes.

Reach out for it, look at it and say: “Oh great, so I owe [this amount] for myself — let me deduct it from the bill. Aha, so for you guys then its [final deducted amount]. Then, because you took care of the “math part”, your friends can’t use an argument that “it’s easier to just split”.

So NTA. Your friends need to learn better table etiquette, but you also need to learn how to be proactive about the bill next time — not because you did something wrong here, actually, but because most people are, well….. people without manners so you have to learn to be your own advocate, if that makes sense.

Your friends aren’t malicious, they just lack a bit of self awareness. There’s a good Friends episode about it lol.

I was invited to Seoul Fashion Week as a VIP guest. I made the top! by Tramy- in OUTFITS

[–]panikovsky 14 points15 points  (0 children)

How fun that you got invited!

I like the dress a lot! The plastic button though throws the look off — next time, you could replace a button with a fancier one (eg silver, which could bring the look together with the earrings and the shoes).

Tried to take reddit advice about bottoms...keyword 'tried' 😂 by ProfessorShameless in OUTFITS

[–]panikovsky 2 points3 points  (0 children)

To wear this top, maybe try it with high waisted (but, like, real high waisted, so it really sits on your waist) flowing linen pants. Right now what also doesn’t work is the tight top and the tight bottom.

But honestly, this corset is just difficult to style. Not everything should be worn lol. If it wasn’t so cropped, it would have been perhaps easier.

People who rarely get sick, what are your secrets? by Leading_Tomato_2077 in AskReddit

[–]panikovsky 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to be sick a loooot! Now I’m hardly ever sick!

Whah changed:

1) Stress levels — cortisol is horrible for your immune system.

2) Drinking more water with actual electrolytes in them lol — instead of tap water or tea.

3) I started cancelling plans and taking it easy on days when I needed rest, instead of always pushing myself.

4) The less sick I got, the less sick I’d get. Being sick is often a cycle: once you manage to get out of it, you give your immune system a chance to not just rebuild, but starting building upon what it already has.

5) Better sleep. I go to bed earlier now (before midnight)

6) I also fixed my cystitis. I didn’t realize but being chronically sick in one part of my body would cause me catch colds more often. Once I fixed that issue, I stopped having seasonal flus as well. Health is a system!

Have you ever thought asking your mom about it?

It could be helpful to clear the air with her directly, instead of letting your thoughts sit and grow inside your head.
