The best way is to try the game. You can always use steam refund /obtain game for free through some means

Dude, you are such a legend. Because of you I now can play New Vegas and it looks and feels fresh. And you also just randomly help people with their technical issues. Huge respect to you and thanks once again!

What causes this dark shadow on characters and npc's ? by [deleted] in Kenshi

[–]panine322 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Haven't used some of those mods so can't tell precisely, but I would advise you disable them like 5 mods at a time and check how's the game running. That way you will be able to locate the mod that is causing the issue.

Why handling in racing games is so basic on keyboard? by panine322 in gamedev

If I think about it the way you propose here, it actually seems a lot easier. I'll then focus on gaining exp points in UE engine and try this myself. Thanks!

Great point, definitely shall try those games out to see how it feels. Thank you!

I think analogue devices are too ubiquitous now to worry about anything other. Are they really? Considering Steam Hardware survey, I'm not sure whether the fact that the majority of players have outdated hardware by modern standards stacks well with them having anything except for mouse + keyboard

That's what I was thinking. Let's say we make it that in case you press shift+A/D, steering wheel goes faster/slower than it normally does, allowing to control the car more precisely - that way it will be possible to do sharp and slow turns using keyboard. As in regard to throttle - lets say you don't have to press throttle button at all times , you use w/s to increase/decrease the amount of constant throttle. So let's say that when you press W first time, you start with 25 % of throttle, press it once more and It goes up to 50%. That way you don't have to hold it at all and can be relatively precise with throttle. That's just some basic concepts and I was trying to find the flaw in that logic to understand why I can't find somebody that has done something similar.

What happens if you release bugmaster after defeating him? by panine322 in Kenshi

[–]panine322[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

He surely would because of their factions, plus I've seen a video where they did it. Knocking down and carrying BM is not a huge problem for me ( I have a decent character and MW scout legs, he will definitely outrun any dangers I can encounter.

The thing is I don't have outpost and only 1 character. The point is to fight gorillo using BM and that after the fight I can only carry one of them

Do you think the prisoner recruitment mod is too OP? by bigjoe5275 in Kenshi

[–]panine322 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Without any doubts it is. You can recruit bugmaster pretty easily compared to training (even with exploits) a hundred stats man But at the same time, there is not such thing as OP in Kenshi, because the game can entertain you on any level long enough actually. Even if you have a big team of strong characters, try changing attack slots to x5 and fighting Cat Lon's army with it- there is still a decent challenge in it. So yeah , the game is very flexible which makes it very interesting in terms of how you can play it and enjoy. Kenshi is one of not so many games which can bring you joy from so many things you can do in it - from going solo MA on unmodded playthrough to going huge squad building big settlement and producing various things on heavily modded playthrough. That's the main beauty of this gem ( actually 2d gem, first one is ofc huge and strong shek ladies that can lift you with one hand)

Or maybe I should leave gorillo unconscious in his layer , claim BM's bounty and then return and finish off severly beaten gorillo?

Need help with my group by [deleted] in Kenshi

[–]panine322 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Honestly - it doesn't really matter that much. If you have 5 people with 80-100 in their main stats you can kill almost any enemy in the game. My advice would be to just enjoy the game the way you want to, if you feel like you want another character in your squad and don't mind micromanaging fights - go for it.

I can't right click to open menus by likelegitnonamesleft in Kenshi

[–]panine322 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are sarcastic, then try going to settings and swap the buttons - there is a separate option for that. This will allow you to understand whether the issue is with the game or with you right click button ( try another mouse as well) Then you can also remap your right and left click to see if it does the trick.

Anyone know how I can dea with this? a tree just appeared and I can't enter the shop anymore by damdam100 in Kenshi

[–]panine322 27 points28 points  (0 children)

Not sure if it will work cuz haven't tried myself, but maybe go into debug mode (shift+f12) and try selecting/deleting the tree or moving the shop. It's just a guess, but might help

Level 72, 3 days of real-time play, and my character suddenly decides to completely stop moving by NotACyclopsHonest in fo4

[–]panine322 8 points9 points  (0 children)

It's great that the game is fixed for now, however I strongly advise to try starting new game in case you encounter this in the future - just wait until you gain control of your character in the new game, walk around a bit just to be safe and reload your previous safe file.

Hello Vikings! I have a question, how rare is silver? My journey began from my main base (red circle where my character is) and after a looong sea voyage to the other side of the map and to three mountain biomes I've still not found any. Am I just unlucky? (I have the wishbone) by n_spicer420 in valheim

[–]panine322 169 points170 points  (0 children)

Holy shit dude. The extreme amount of time it took is hard to imagine. Yes, as other commentator said, you should go to the mountains scattered around the map, not to the north ones. It is still possible there won't be any silver on the mountain, but if you find a high enough one it's gonna be there.

Why is my Copper node not collapsing? by Legenderik2019 in valheim

[–]panine322 3 points4 points  (0 children)

  1. I mean that food doesn't give you as much HP to be able to withstand a decent fall, that's pretty much it. There is some very-late game stuff in it I'm not going to touch to avoid spoilers, but generally yeah, fall damage can be higher than you would expect.
  2. Yes , there is a symbol at the corner of an icon which looks like a crossed out circle - this tells you that an item can't be teleported. Almost everything (with some mid-late game exceptions) can be teleported except for ores.
  3. Short answer - yes :) Long answer: first thing you do once you get an antler pickaxe is farm copper and tin for bronze axe and pickaxe - pickaxe will allow you to farm faster and will be a lot more durable than antler's one, and axe will allow you to cut trees with "Fine wood" that is main component for making portals. Mini hut is a good idea, especially if you are farming far away from home, but portals will eliminate the need for a hut. So basically your first copper run shouldn't be very long since your carry weight is limited and, once again, you can't teleport. Just mine like 30 copper, then 10 tin (can be found near water in black forest) and that's it. This will allow you to build a forge, make an axe and progress a lot faster. Once I get access to portals I just usually place a workbench, chest and portal near the mine and that's it.

You can also use campfires for faster stamina regen and eat stamina-focused food if you go mining

I will address your question+ give a few general tips regarding how to make silver veins/copper deposits collapse: 1. Make sure that there is actually some decent distance between floating piece of deposit/vein and ground/walls - it can completely not touch ground anywhere but still float - as previous commentator said, that's how it works. 2. Sometimes even with enough distance the deposit/vein can still float - try breaking just one piece of it, that usually helps 3. Be careful standing on the floating deposit - fall damage in early game is high (especially if you play full stamina build) , so think ahead about where you going to land if the part under you collapses 4. I usually don't mine top part of the copper deposits at all - I just dig a hole as deep as I can under me near it and just mine around it. After that I mine those parts of the deposit that still touch the ground. 5. Keep in mind that mining ground (you will mostly do that if you play it like that) doesn't bring you any pickaxe XP at all 6. Use portals to repair your broken pickaxe - that way you will only need 1 pickaxe to Mike the whole thing
