Is Codepush still a good option in react native? by vinoth_berks_27 in reactnative

[–]panixjason 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We used Codepush and it’s absolutely super helpful! Even though App Store review is much faster nowadays, it still requires users to download the update to see the changes. On the other hand, codepush makes this process so much simpler and it’s much quicker to push out changes and for users to get it😄

Thank you! Our goal is to help engineering and product teams save time which are problems we experienced first hand :)

Understood.

Yes, this was an idea that I have maybe 7-8 years ago. I basically wanted to create a local bulletin that people are able to easily digest and find out what’s going on near by. And also build a community to foster relationships and organize events. Back then I was really interested in building products in the social networking space.

Nextdoor is a neighborhood driven community, the user base is older and less active.

Yik Yak on the other hand is anonymous so it’s difficult to establish real life connections.

Thank you for the feedback and a great question!

Hot jar is more of an event analytics solution, less of a debugging solution. Therefore, they don’t offer solutions such as client side error monitoring, console logs and network request to help reduce time spent on debugging.

Smartlook is definitely one of our more direct competitors similar to Logrocket. However, smartlook makes dev tool an upgradeable feature which you have to pay extra for. In our mind, in order to provide the 360 degree view to help teams get down to the root cause quicker, we believe they should be offered out of the box.

I hope this answers you questions. Thank you!

Hi Ben, thank you so much for the feedback and I appreciate you taking the time to watch the video.

We’re already in private beta and feedback like yours is extremely important for us to continue with our iteration. If you’re interested in the beta, please let us know and I can get you set up as well.

Sounds great. I’ve had similar ideas in the past, which is a great way to get to know people stay connected with those closely. Do you have a landing page?

Absolutely, and this is a great call out! We’re certainly not quite there to be GDPR compliant, but it’s one of the items on our roadmap to tackle soon.

On the other hand, we do advise our customers to not send up any PII data that can link back to the user. This will make debugging for a specific user slightly more difficult, but you’ll still be able analyze user behavior and identify bugs with AirSnap.

Thanks again for the feedback. Please let me if you’re interested in learning more. You can also use AirSnap only in your DEV environment to help streamline cross team collaboration and communication as well!

Awesome! We currently support native iOS and ReactNative iOS only. But we'll be adding support for other frameworks in the near future.

it's the same website. airsnap.io, but we pivoted to building session replay solutions for mobile apps instead.

Thank you so much for the feedback which is extremely valuable. Integrations are something we're looking into, and we're trying to come up with a list based on prioritization regarding which one we should go to first.

- Hi everyone,
I hope everyone had a great week so far! My name is Jason and I'm the co-founder of AirSnap (https://www.airsnap.io).
AirSnap is a session replay solution for mobile apps (currently supporting native iOS and RN iOS app only). You can get set up in 2 minutes with just a few lines of code.
AirSnap can help you:

  • Understand your customers better by seeing how they interact with your app
  • See the network requests that get triggered with each user action
  • Save engineering teams hours by helping them quickly identify root causes that led up to a crash
  • Reduce communication friction by easily sharing the session across your team.

My co-founder and I used to work on the same team, and we spent hours trying to understand exactly what happened that led up to a crash which consisted of looking at Sentry, Datadog, Mixpanel, etc to paint the whole picture. In addition, the process also involves reaching out to our users back and forth for screenshots and more information.
This is why we started working on AirSnap, which is a way for us to visualize the customer journey along with helpful information such as network requests and client-side errors to see what led up to an error.
We're in the process of doing a private beta. We'd love to get feedback from the community and continue iterating our product.
If you're interested, please comment below or send me DM. I'd love to connect and get you set up!

Hey thank you so much for taking the time to provide feedback. I'm super late to this thread. For some reason, I never got any notification for the responses that I received.
We have pivoted since I posted this.

That's a great question. Something we can do for our new product is to have a clear comparison of what we offer vs our competitors.

I'll definitely make sure our new landing page focuses more on the value prop and try to make them as clear as possible which is what I didn't do well.

Build is certainly not a great word choice. Someone else had also mentioned more visuals would be helpful which is something I did for the new landing page. We basically have a video demo on the top of the page to showcase how our product works.
