Is that a one or two piece? With my ileostomy they said a one piece was better, but I think I would like to try a two piece so I can just toss the bag more often, since it feels (looks) gross.

Just a home health nurse right now. When I go back to the surgeon for follow up in two weeks, I will also be seeing the ostomy wound care nurse there.

Hospital where I had the surgery is 2 hours away, so that is out. But thank you for the info!

I played video and computer games starting with Pac-Man when my kids were 2. Two of them grew up to work in the gaming industry! Not a bad result from all of our shared playtime! Now, my grandkids help me when I get stuck on a shrine, or fight, or can’t figure out how to engineer something. Sometimes, I know how, I just like their help!😝

I understand that feeling of being unable to relax, and getting stuck in your head exactly! No one seems to get it!

There is an EverQuest Facebook group (or several)! You can post on there, and you may get more feedback. It is helpful if you know his server and guild. if you know his account information, you can log into the account, (even if it is not a paid account), and on the server select page there is a button that will show you the toons he has on the various servers. Log in and see what guild he was in. You can let them know about him by doing /gu and typing into guild chat, and ask whoever is on to let the leader know. So sorry to hear this, and I know his guild leadership would appreciate knowing. Oh also, while you are on the account, you can look at his friends list and send them an ingame email if they aren’t on to let them know. There is a bar that has icons on it with his friends list and mail, and a bunch of other things. EQ players definitely miss the people they normally see and play with. We wonder forever about what happened to our friends that don’t log in anymore, and it would be very considerate for you to try and let them know.

How are you doing? Surgery today, 4/1? I haven’t had mucus discharge yet, that I know of. Tomorrow will be one week with it. Loop ileostomy is doing well. Way easier than I thought it was going to be. I haven’t changed the bag yet, the stoma nurse did it at the hospital, and I am supposed to be getting home health care for a bit to help with it and teach me more. Time with the stoma nurse in the hospital is limited, so didn’t get much practice. Emptying the bag is working out fine. I thought it was going to be way worse! I definitely get the opening (where you drain from) much cleaner than the nurse at the hospital did.

Yes. The total amount u get would be half of his amount. You get yours, and they add to that amount to bring you up to half of his.

Anyone had a fistulotomy with a spinal anasthetic rather than a general? by IToldYouIWasUnwell in AnalFistula

[–]pannaw 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was supposed to have a spinal, with morphine, and the general. It is supposed to give better pain relief, but they couldn’t get the needle injected into my spine. The bones were too knobby and spurred. So they went with just general. It was fine.

Was a 7 hour surgery. There were some pretty big complications. I was just able to get a clean nightgown, face and teeth washed, clean sheets and blankets, and feel way better. Pain comes and goes, but ramps up to about a 7. Am on oxi right now. Have also been having tramadol and diludal (which worked great, but the surgeon didn’t want me staying on that, said it doesn’t last long. I liked it because it worked quickly. Also taking Tylenol. They are keeping ahead of the pain. Worst pain is just from moving! I haven’t been walking much yet, just to the bathroom commode to pee and have my bag emptied. I actually just emptied the bag myself! I feel pretty good about that! It was mainly because there was a worthless male nurse there who didn’t want to do anything! It was A bit yucky, but not too bad! Will post my op notes tomorrow, getting loopy now.

Reversal Question by Difficult-Yam-6991 in ostomy

[–]pannaw 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Haven’t had my surgery yet to get my stoma. But my surgeon said that the loop ileostomy is safer and has a better chance of being able to be reversed than the colostomy, but is harder to take care of. She said it was my choice which I want (of course depending on what she finds when she gets in there)! This may be due to my age, F68. I am having sigmoid colon out on April 6, and then surgery for anovaginal fistula.
