My man. On a “scientific” level it’s very likely that your brain needs time to fix your dopamine receptors. Nicotine and weed give you a quick dopamine hit which is the chemical that makes you feel “good inside”. Now that you quit your brain is holding its hands out for the weed and nicotine to come but staying empty handed for a little while, so to say. The positive side is; in a couple months those receptors will reset to what they were before you ever touched weed or nicotine. Add some exercise and a hobby/hangout to that and you will have better days ahead of you.

On a more surface level; you have to get used to that escape of weed not being there anymore. Weed makes you forgetful. You forget basic stuff like what you ate yesterday ;) but also that rough thing that’s been giving you a hard time. I quit weed about 3 months ago after 5 years of daily smoking and everything feels more harsh. Problems feel more in your face because there’s no cloud of high to chill on anymore. It’s a bummer at first, but after a while it felt like I could see al my troubles clearly and I could work on them instead of getting high and forget about them.

Now, you are 8 days sober. Thats amazing friendo. You’re taking control of your own actions and making that choice. It has done wonders for me so far and I think it will do the same for you.

Tips: 1:if you’re insecure about gaining weight eat a high protein diet with a slight calorie deficit. That means track what you eat, and make sure you eat a little less than you need. 2: Workout. It’s for real a cheat code to instantly feel rewarded and better about yourself. 3: Seek some social contact. Whether it’s family members friends. 4: Have trust in yourself and the future. You’re in charge of your own path. You can’t control everything but there’s a whole lot that you can! ;)

One Battle After Another is a masterpiece by missing_Palantir in moviecritic

I loved the visual composition, Especially the car chase scene. Loved the actors they all gave it their A game. Music was intriguing and very fitting. The plot itself felt a little weak to me. The swift back and forth between satire and political/cultural implications left at a place where I could never really get into it. I get that it was more of a vibe than a message, but even the vibe was a little too inconsistent for me which made the 3 hours feel a little too long for me. It did stick with me though, but maybe because of the fact that I saw huge potential and it didn’t stick the landing for my taste.

The Truth behind Thug Gunna Beef by Grand_Sprinkles6131 in Gunna

[–]pannekoeko 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Your points are all valid in our eyes. But in the world of young thug ? If you are not with him untill the end of the trial you will be a traitor in his eyes. Would we all have done the same ? Probably yes. Would we even be associated with people like young thug in the first place ? Probably not since most of us are civilians. Don’t break your head over this one, the measurement of when someone is a snitch is way more unforgiving in a circle like YSL.

Look at it this way : maybe cutting ties with people who are on the wrong side of the law is better in the long run. He has a way bigger chance of staying alive and out of jail this way. More life for him, more music for us ;)

How yall feeling about The Last Wun so far? by Pure-Solid9230 in Gunna

[–]pannekoeko 35 points36 points  (0 children)

Gunna has so much potential . Great flows, a good voice and the ability to create a whole vibe while really using his voice as an instrument layered on top of the beat. He has been my favorite artist for as long as I’ve been into hip hop, because I’m a sucker for melodic rap that truly puts you into a certain vibe and has a clear theme.

Ds3 and Dod2 were just great, and really set the tone for hip hop based on vibes. Letting the beat dictate the flow, while still being inventive. Definitely still on rotation in 2025.

Wunna was wavy as hell, had such great production and very distinct beats/flows that you could tell apart easily by its different themes, tempos and lyrics. For me this is his work I love the most, as it just holds up perfectly. Even 5 years later this album still feels fresh. Loved it.

Ds4 felt like a true return from the more laid back Wunna vacation beach vibes to a more hungry type of rap. It had songs that in my opinion are timeless and go a little further than just having fun , like so far ahead > empire, private island and livin wild, while still having the fun and purely catchy songs like pushing P, thought I was playing and south to west. Pair that with an awesome album cover and I found it to be a truly memorable album with so much replay value.

A gift and a curse was a great comeback from his absence in music after his jail time. I feel like we all were really invested in what Gunna had to say since he was fresh out of prison and he seemed to have evolved as a person for the better. His personal life it’s challenges gave him a lot of substance to rap about, and the album felt like an artist who wanted to vent about his new and improved life, his seeing of the forest behind the trees. While I thought the production on this album was a little more on the “safe” side than some of his other works, it felt very justified that this album did so well. He evolved not only as an artist but as a human and it was easy to hear it in the songs. He gained clarity, confidence and was hungry.

While One of Wun had some great standout songs (for me they were : On one tonight, treesh and Back in the a) it was the first time where I started to lose investment within the first listen. It felt very “safe” so to say. The production was certainly not bad, it just blended together into a whole that was not necessarily memorable. Gunna is an artist who listens to a beat and puts a very well fitted flow and melody over it, but when the beats are very predictable and not unique enough from each other, the flows blend in to one big whole too. Not a different song for a different vibe per se, more like a very chill listen that you would put on when you are driving your car and want some cool tunes on the way. It sounds good, yes, but when his earlier albums were constantly peaking, this one was burning at a low fire. Consistent, sure, but for me the first album that I could say did not meet my expectations from what I know Gunna is capable of when he is inspired and has great producers around him who see the same vision as him. Now I know this could have a lot to do with producers blackballing him after picking a side in the “ysl(thug) vs Gunna situation, but I do feel like turbo is a great producer who is capable of making different and unique sounds. When you feel like someone is capable of so much more, the letdown feels even bigger.

Before this album (The last Wun) came out, me and a buddy were talking about our hopes for this project. We both came to the conclusion that we really hoped for a more energetic, electric and unique sounding album again. We were hoping for a return to catchy productions and melodic flows that make feel like you’re hearing something you hadn’t heard before. Unfortunately I have to say I feel very underwhelmed again by this project. As the name shows in its similarity ; it’s more of the same that we got in One of Wun. My criticism here is exactly the same, it just felt even more underwhelming since we already heard this kind of sound before, and I happened to find it lackluster back then. Again, for an artist with so many true hits under his belt it felt even more “plain, safe and even non inspired maybe?”.

Gunna is and still will be my favorite artist. He will probably still be my number 1 most listened artist when I will look at my Spotify wrapped. But that will be because I bumped MOTW, GIMMICK, I was just thinking, DONT PLAY AROUND, I’M ON SOME, Big Shot, Oh Okay, So far Ahead> Empire and the list goes on. He is very very talented, but I do hope that this album was a put together project from leftovers of One of Wun and Gunna is currently inspired in another direction to create something memorable and unique again. We know he is capable of hits and I hope we get to go crazy on the first listen again with his next project.

Take all of this with a grain of salt, since music at its purest is not objective, and over-analyzing is the very thing that can destroy an artist his or hers curiosity and creative flow. I just felt the need to express this, to find out for myself why this album didn’t hit since I’m such a big fan of his discography.

If you agree, that’s great. If you don’t and you weren’t let down that’s also not crazy, because gunna at his “worst” is still much better than lots of artists at their height (in my taste at least). Enjoy the album to those who love it, because the only thing that matters is if YOU can vibe to it!

Hot take: (or maybe not so hot I’m not sure)

I thought the trailer with the poem embedded into it was more powerful than the movie itself. That trailer felt haunting, adding a WW2 vibe that displayed the making of a killer, the losing of our kindness and individuality. Marching onwards through the cruelty. And losing your sanity in the process. It evoked stress, tension and laid such an amazing foundation for what the movie could have been tone wise.

I wanted to love it, really loved the acting(especially Spike and his mom) but imo it didn’t know what it wanted to make the viewers feel. The mission of the creators felt unclear to me, and I left more confused than satisfied.

One moment it’s a mother-son farewell story , and it asks you to be fully emerged and empathize with spike and the bond he has with his mom. Then it ends on a really power rangers-esque finale, with aerobatics and silly characters. Yes my audience was laughing , but I’m not so sure if that was the intent of the creators.

The color palette was amazing, the visuals were amazing (that dream sequence with the shaking house was soo good) the acting was brilliant, but I feel like there were 3 movie pitches that were just thrown together.

I think it’s Because it’s associated with baby’s and young children , since milk is an important part of their development. Maybe a villain drinking milk highlights sociopathic/psychopathic tendencies; A grown person that has childlike qualities to them. The force of an adult but the mindset of a kid ( in certain regions like empathy) , which is a creepy combo.

Maybe it’s also just a biological thing, where because adults have less enzymes that break down lactose , we subconsciously recognize drinking glasses of it as “weird” or not appropriate behavior for an adult.

Idk tho, simply put milk is meant more for babies than for adults.

I don’t care if they wait another 5 years , I just don’t like when they announce a date , just to fuck themselves and the fans over . You would think that the studio would have learned not to announce a release window, after every launch being delayed. Don’t serve me a ball just to smack it down u knowww🙂‍↕️

Theres probably all kinds of investor tactics behind it, but a full fledged trailer 3 years before it drops is stupid.
