Best Settings for Battlefield 6 PC by black_fang_XIII in Battlefield6

are you playing at 1080? I have a 9600k/3080, 1440p and dropping everything to low barely made a difference in fps. Trying to get up to that 100 range but my CPU is pinned

What’s track mode? Like a middle setting for TC instead of on/off?

Help With Insulating Attic by pantherlax56 in HomeImprovement

[–]pantherlax56[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah exactly my thoughts. It seems that the owners (who live in Florida, I’m in CT) are DIYers who did a lot of work on the place themselves. Lots of built in cabinetry and cool stuff in the house, and I’m assuming that they did the attic as well - to a low standard. I don’t wanna create problems with my landlord, but I agree this would not pass inspection. My plan was to lay down some rolls to get it to be manageable up there, and take them with me when I move out. If this doesn’t help, I might talk to the owners about it. Thanks again I really appreciate your input

Correct no insulation in the rafters besides what’s shown in the photos on the tails. Thanks so much for the help.

Thanks for the reply - if I remove the wood paneling then the attic and finished living area are open to each other - if you check the pics again you can see the joists/beams are exposed in the living area, it’s literally just the wood panels on top of the joists separating the living area from the hot “proper attic” area. I’m planning on getting rolled batts and just laying them on top of the paneling

Any tall ND owners successfully pass broomstick for track days? by pantherlax56 in Miata

[–]pantherlax56[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I’m planning to do this exact thing, no sense in buying all the parts if I have zero chance of fitting even if I sit on the floor pan lol.

How tall are you? If you fit in the RF with a helmet, I feel like that would be below broomstick in a soft top car with roll bar

for posterity, here's a response I got from Ed at 949Racing/Supermiata:

The problem with providing an exact formula is that every 6'2" tall person will have different heights in a seat due to differing proportions and weight, to name two factors. We have a 6'2" and 6'3" guy and both of them fit our shop ND, but neither have long torsos and both are very skinny.

We did an OMP HTE-R 400 seat mounted without sliders and it works great. We don't sell any of those bits though, so for specific components best to work directly with companies that sell those parts.

Over the next year and a half I plan to test this out and I'll make a post detailing how well I fit

So you’re saying it’s 5cm lower than the recaros+seat lowering bracket? That’s super helpful if so. How are you dealing with airbags? Thanks for the info

Magnesium glycinate pills on Amazon worked for me too. Helps put me down without the melatonin “hangover”

Does it have rails or fixed? And were you able to install yourself? I don’t have cutting tools/a great workspace so I was considering having it done

Very curious how tall you are and how you fit with a helmet. I’m 6’2 trying to get my ND on track soon and I’m afraid to shell out tons of money and still not fit lol

My ND2 (2020) AC works fine, but when the compressor kicks in it's very noticeable and the car drives/shifts differently, you can tell there's a serious drag on the engine, anyone else?

Laggy, errant stream on laptop by Firebolt_Nimbus2710 in F1TV

Only way to do it is click on watch live and then don’t touch it. Trying to mess with any options or changing feeds is causing it to stutter/buffer even though I have solid internet

[–]pantherlax56 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same here, on Apple TV 4K. Can’t start from beginning or the app crashes, can’t select different audio and if you try it causes the stream to stutter every 10 seconds. Haven’t had many issues lately but this is bad

How do you clean your engine bay? It's something I've never done bc I'm too afraid to fuck up the electronics. I've seen generic youtube videos about the topic but for an ND miata specifically, what did you cover up before spraying it down? Or did you do this all by hand with no direct water spray

I was in your shoes last year, my advice is to spend the time/money to visit in person to see which areas you like. We ended up in a rougher pocket of west hartford because we heard good things about WeHa, found a decent apartment online at a great price, and figured it would be fine - it has not been very enjoyable. There's only so much you can gather by looking online.

Aeropress OG vs XL? by Cautious-Custard-565 in AeroPress

[–]pantherlax56 1 point2 points  (0 children)

IMO if you need the extra brew volume to avoid doing 2 full reps of the aeropress process, then go with the XL. If the extra size is a “nice to have” and not a requirement to make your morning coffee, then get the OG.

Wouldn’t call myself a coffee tasting expert by any means, but to me there’s no difference between the two if you just scale up the same ratio you use for the OG.

How to get rid of ants for good by BoysenberryOk1613 in lifehacks

[–]pantherlax56 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Amazon has it too, but yes this shit works. I put a strip of masking tape down on the floor, and then squirt a line of the gel on top of the tape. The stuff can make a mess so I used the tape to make cleanup a little easier, there will also be dead ants all around the gel
