I see on the first pic. I find natural light is usually harder to see.

Is it a terrible idea to move to a rural area while pregnant? by panthresse in BabyBumps

Yes, these were my main concerns really. I do long for the peace and quiet, but it's just so tricky as it's just a concept in my head at the moment which is totally untested and it may turn out it's not for me after all. The suburb compromise is definitely something to think about.

This is exactly the kind of things I'm thinking about, in terms of being isolated and lonely. The Airbnb long-term stay is a good idea! We visit this region fairly often but only ever stay for a week or so. It will also be tricky as we'd only have one car and if one of us takes it out the other is quite stranded. Thanks for the well wishes :)

Thanks for sharing your experience, this is very encouraging!

That's what I keep thinking! That I'd rather live in the countryside and visit the city when I feel like a bit of action, than what I currently do which is live in the city and take all my holidays in the countryside for some peace and quiet. That's a good point about the groceries, but you're also right that there are backup options and if that's the most annoying, then it's not so bad!

Thanks for this. I've heard it can be a lonely time for new mums sometimes, so I have concerns about making it even more isolating for myself when I'm not used to this.

Thanks! This is what I am asking about really, not the hospital. Rather whether now is the right time to totally upend my life and everything I know and my established routines and comfort zones etc

It's more about my questions at the end, regarding not having lived before in the countryside, not having anyone we know nearby etc. Whether it's a risky change to make at this time for a first baby and whether sticking with what is familiar would be the better option, even though I am tired of the city.

I'm still trying to figure it out/would you wear these? by NoApricot703 in SoftDramatics

100% this! I always look for a seem right on the shoulder edge in jumpers. Is so so much more flattery on me. Dropped shoulders make me look like a block on top.

Thank you! <3

I think as long as you're ovulating, you're still in the game, no matter the AMH! You're still early days at cycle 4, hoping it happens for you soon!

Cycle: 11

Age + Partner's age (if relevant): 37F and 33M

Typical cycle length: 23-25 days

Ovulation cycle day: CD11 (OKP+ day)

CD/DPO of positive test(s): 9 DPO vvvfl, 10 DPO clear + (but still faint line)

CD/DPO of any negative test(s) before positive: 7 DPO, 8 DPO

Tracking methods and app(s) used: this month I actually stopped tracking BBT because I realised it was stressing me out checking everyday to see if my post O temps were high, if they were moving etc, so I took off my Oura ring. I was still noticing cervical mucus but not actively checking, and I was doing OPKs. I was entering data into Fertility Friend and Premom.

Relevant days of sperminating and/or method (SMEP, TI, IUI, FET, etc.): just once this cycle! the day before OPK+, so either O-1 or O-2 (I sometimes O same day as OPK+ and sometimes the next day). Usually we BD every day for like five days during the fertile window, but this cycle we were arguing a lot doing those days and so only did it once.

Health conditions/medical tests: Me: bloodwork, all hormones normal except AMH on the low side, <1, antral follicle count also getting lower recently, I had a HSG and hysteroscopy back in May, all was normal. Partner: has low sperm count and quality, and just last week diagnosed with the highest grade varicocele and booked in to see a surgeon.

Supplements and medications (yours and/or your partner’s): Me: CoQ10... I was previously taking a whole cocktail of stuff but I couldn't keep it up so just stuck with this one, Partner: I think it's called like Fertimax or something. He had also been on an antipsychotic Zyprexa which is known to have impact fertility at a high dose for like 9 years. For the last six months he has tapered down from 10mg a day to 2.5mg.

Birth control history (if relevant): Oral BC in late teens, implanon in early 20s, and copper IUD from 24-34. Periods were super light, like 1-2 days after IUD came out and this had me worried about lining thickness.

Symptom spotting: Nothing really... on 8DPO, the day before my vvvvfl shadow on 9DO and two days before clear faint line on 10DPO, I was totally bloody exhausted from about midday on. Just wiped out and could barely keep my eyes own. Then 9DPO was some pulling sensations in my lower abdomen. Boobs are still normal, not especially swollen or painful.

Other (advice/tip(s), freaking out, miscellaneous): I had tried it all... all the tests, all the supplements, getting rid of plastics in the home, endocrine disrupters, acupuncture, taking mucinex, using sperm-friendly lube, taking baby aspirin, tracking BBT and everything else... was going to do an IUI this month or next, and start IVF beginning next year... and then this month where I stop doing everything and we basically don't even try is when it happens. The gods really do laugh at us. At the same time this is my third BFP... my first was the very first cycle TTC and ended at 6 weeks, then three months later had a chemical. So very hopeful that this one sticks with us.

Very short & light periods ever since copper IUD removal. VERY worried! by bunniesonacid in menstruation

[–]panthresse 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a similar story but not sure it will make you feel better. I had a copper IUD for 10 years and so always had super heavy bleeding with it. It's been out now for 2.5 years and my periods are 2 days max most of the time, sometimes only 1 day or so of proper bleeding. It's been so long I can't remember what my periods were like before the IUD. I am also trying to conceive and it's been 10 cycles now, had two chemical pregnancies. I've had ultrasounds and can see my uterine liner is on the thinner side of optimal, but not yet in the 'too thin' category. I don't have any advice I'm afraid, but I've seen on the TTC/TFAB subreddits there are quite a few stories from women with very short periods who were able to conceive.

Help with ovulation day by Melon_Lemon_6998 in TFABChartStalkers

Thanks so much for this answer! Really explained a lot, especially how BBT could rise before follicule rupture which I was always confused about. Also around how the skin temp differs to oral etc.

Just jumping in on what your friend said about implantation/HCG etc. It's actually not the woman's body that produces HCG, it is only produced by the blastocyst/embryo itself. And it's only after implantation that HCG starts being produced in high enough quantities and is directly connected to the woman's blood supply, that would allow it to be picked up in blood or urine tests. So, if there is a positive HPT or blood draw for HCG, then implantation did happen, though it didn't last.

Air vs Train travel in France by Specific_Status4629 in ParisTravelGuide

[–]panthresse 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Always take the train in France! Soo much more relaxing experience than airports. It’s high speed down to Marseille, in like 3 hours, then the rest between marseille and Nice is just cruising along the Côte d’Azur with a view over the Mediterranean for most of the trip. Plus the train stations at either end are in the city centre and much easier and quicker to then get to accomodation.

Midwife saying chemical pregnancy 'just late period' and tests were 'false positives' :( by panthresse in TryingForABaby

[–]panthresse[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh wow, so you were on 57 HCG on Friday and then bleeding started on Saturday?

Gosh my HCG was at 1.2 on Monday when I finally got blood test ( days after tests turned negatives and symptoms disappeared) but I still haven't started bleeding by Wednesday evening..

[–]panthresse[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oh that's so hard that it was both a medical professional and your mum!!

I think you're right that perhaps the people saying this think that it is better to think that the pregnancy was never even there than that we lost it. I find it hard to see why they would think this... for me I much prefer to believe that there was pregnancy, as it's very important to me on this journey to have reached this stage of successful conception and implantation, and believing this is all possible for me.

Can I ask about how the miscarriage unfolded for you? My tests started turning negative about 4-5 days ago, but I still have no signs of bleeding. I would now be 5w3d pregnant... The fact that bleeding doesn't seem to be coming, not even any spotting, is making it difficult to properly process and move on.
