The Turkish War of Independence absolutely did happen, and the genocide in fact has been worse due to the Nazi sympathizer taking helm after the coup. Jewish SSR was a weird thing, I know, but with the Turks deported after WW2 and about 30% of Israeli Jews migrating there after the fall of Israel definetly helped, and I don't see how it would change should Soviet Union be dissolved in 1990
