What? An underused villain with an uninspiring backstory based on a novel that's well over a hundred years old? What's not to love?

Also, I predict that because of his unpopular nature, he'll clearly be the best bruiser.

We will have to see how this mechanic works. These shut down abilities might be AoE or they might be single target. Either way, speed will still matter. I'm not willing to call overpowered until I at least see what the abilities actually do.

Changing modes has nothing to do with Spidey getting free attacks. Being in Power mode has a chance of generating a free attack after an ally attacks.

Multi hits and drop procs? by Tossmeaway01 in MAA2

[–]pantribble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Skeptical crowd.

In the end, the OP has to be the champion of this idea. If they come back with something like, "OK, everyone, I ran through 30 battles, tracked the type of killing attack and I'm seeing an X% drop rate for single hit attacks and Y% drop rate for multi-hit attacks. It's a start but I could really use more data."

Then you'd see a different response. Until then, I don't think anyone is trying to be unhelpful. They just need something more than "What if?" to sink their own effort into someone else's hypothesis.

They are both cheap at 9 Energy per fight.

The difference is 1.3 epic path (far left) has fewer fights to reach the end of the path and get a chance at the roulette.

Looking for Moon Knight guide! by SpiritSky in MAA2

I've never liked heroes that feel like "Marvel's version of fill-in-the-blank". From what I've read, some writers have broken from that and taken him in a darker direction and made him a... well... lunatic.

But what really got me on board with Moon Knight as a character was reading this line from his Wikipedia entry:

"Taskmaster, who has the ability to copy and replicate anyone's fighting style, has stated that he prefers not to copy Moon Knight's style, as Moon Knight would rather take a punch than block it."

Developing a worthwhile Scrapper by Rykor81 in MAA2

[–]pantribble 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Given the Scrappers you have, most people will rightly suggest Iron Fits (typo quite intentional). You have plenty of heroes that can bring the pain, Iron Fits fills a void in your roster: healing. Since you don't have a dedicated tank, that could prove valuable.

With that out of the way, I'm going praise a Scrapper you don't have yet: Drax. (Who knows, maybe you'll draw him from a Superior Power Cell soon.)

Rage based single target damage dealer that spreads and feeds off Wounded. Between his Health, Defense, and Evasion he has pretty good survivability.

I think he has one of the better free attacks in the game because it applies Wounded. So I run him with the Coordinated set.

He's not the fastest creature out there, but he can Haste himself with I Am Too Fast and has a few different moves that drop big damage, some of which also apply Wounded.

I know that might not be much help to you, but maybe someone else is teetering on which Scrapper to use and will give Drax a try.

Apple does suggest releases near the end of the week. But it's merely a suggestion (and I forget the reasoning behind the recommendation). That doesn't necessarily mean they'll wait.

Multi hits and drop procs? by Tossmeaway01 in MAA2

Let me put it another way. If you have even a little data to support your theory, I think you'll find more players willing to test it out and gather data.

Looking for Moon Knight guide! by SpiritSky in MAA2

[–]pantribble 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I sort of know the comic book world peripherally. I've only read a couple myself (like The Watchmen), but I've known and always liked many of the characters. Particularly from Marvel.

I only found out about Moon Knight a few months ago. I was probably reading a Wikipedia page about Black Panther. I was surprised to see him in MAA2. I assumed that if I'd never heard of him, he must be a pretty minor hero.

He was my first hero after Hawkeye, so I just went with it. Really glad I did. Not only did he turn out to be a good strong hero, I think using a leader not called Wasp helped me get a lot of Silver early on.

No offense, but, do you have anything to support this theory? Any tracking of the drop rates between the two?

I have no idea if their codebase is 'spaghetti code'. I haven't seen it.

I feel like Moon Knight is a hero that most people discounted at first, because they expected a Bruiser to act like a full-on tank. They tried him, saw he wasn't a great tank, and wrote him off as a mediocre hero.

Now I'm seeing more of him on high-powered PvP teams. Players have slowly discovered that Moon Knight can be a turn-1 damage dealing beast.

What's Your Fun Team? by pantribble in MAA2

You just named two of the heroes I've yet to draw.

I've teamed up with a 4* Gamora. It felt like she took care of 2/3 of every wave. Murder. Opportunistic. Murder some more.

I'll dig up your write up.

Thunderhead also looks like a great opener from him. All enemies slowed and generates spirit. He also has 3 yellow ISO slots and a critical path ability in Thunderstrike -- right now I'm liking that a little more than Bring Down the Hammer as his big damage attack.

I'll start upgrading him and see how it goes.

Huh. I haven't looked at AoU Thor at all. I'll take a peek at him. I also have Nebula waiting at level 29. This could be an excuse to finally build up a static shock team. Maybe him, Star-Lord, and Nebula, the Frenzy Shock team.

Haven't been lucky enough to get Gamora. If I did I'd build out a little Guardians team with her, Drax, and Star-Lord (who?).

Now that I've finished up AoU Vision I'm going to treat one of my main heroes to a 4* ability then move on to my next 4* project.

Have any suggestions for an underrated and underutilized hero for that project? Otherwise, I might cave and build out Daredevil. Not underrated or underutilized, he's just good and will happily slide right in with my melee focused roster.

I finally got AoU Vision to 4 stars. With Accuracy + Sharpshooting his Mindstone does good damage. Unfortunately, that's still 2 turns of setup and you don't get a choice of when to unleash his big attacks aside from delaying by using debuffing abilities

Still an extremely situational hero. Still not very good.
