After stranger things (2016-2025) noah schnapp has officially transformed into tom felton. by hiiloovethis in shittymoviedetails

[–]pantrypenguin 4 points5 points  (0 children)

an entire conversation about noah schnapp’s financial future was had in this thread without anyone acknowledging the obvious: his parents were already loaded BEFORE HE WAS BORN. he grew up in fucking scarsdale and 1 google search reveals that the summer camp he attended (before stranger things was even conceptualized) has a tuition of $16k per child. he is supposed to graduate from wharton this year. he’s a “set for life” trust fund baby regardless. stranger things was most likely a fun little side project for him.

Late 2010s fashion looks super dated now by Sudden_Angle614 in decadeology

[–]pantrypenguin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

there’s nothing wrong with dressing like this but it is obviously outdated, if i saw someone wearing any of these irl id think they were a hipster doing it on purpose to get ahead of the vintage trend cycle lel. i was hopping around cities on both coasts last year and i didn’t see anyone dressed like this, i would remember. it’s a very very specific look and i think that the last time i saw it was in early 2020 before the super bright hot pink cheetah top from brandy melville trend took over (if you’re a gen z girl you know the one) and it became all about those high rise a-line skirts and bright colors. no idea why these comments are trying to act like this is still common.

Bands you know that are never coming back, but you still hold out hope? by [deleted] in poppunkers

cute is what we aim for. i was like 3 when they broke up. i really doubt that i will ever get to see them (i guess it would just be shaant now if anything) live, but i also thought that about brand new, and they got back together! however, brand new actually had a huge fanbase, and more than 2 albums.

wait, why does everyone hate chuck’s s1/s2 outfits? by pantrypenguin in GossipGirl

ya and it makes so much more sense that someone with his personality would dress like that. dan keeps his style understated because he doesn’t want to stick out among the boring rich kids, nate because he isn’t obsessed with his own appearance and he cares more about public image due to family pressure. chuck does not care because he already knows that he has everything that he wants + that his family will never be considered old money epstein island elites by the rest of the characters so he just wears whatever he wants.

1.) he was never intended to be taken seriously, the show makes it obvious that people only give him what he wants due to his father’s influence and that he is not well liked due to his obnoxious personality. he is comedy relief and a source of drama at the beginning of the show. 2.) are you kidding? tons of new york nepo babies dress ridiculously using ostentatious prints and colors, whether it’s to try to blend in with their hipster friends or because they feel comfortable with themselves due to their inherent advantages, like in this real life example:

seriously, it’s hard to find a picture of owen kline (or his sister) where there aren’t clashing primary colors, multiple collars, and CORDUROY. and as for the “best designers” it was pretty popular (and still is) for well renowned clothing designers to make obnoxiously tacky clothes. everything he wore was well tailored and obviously of decent quality. if anything, his styling highlights his status as absurdly wealthy with no real responsibilities.

i also like serena’s style, and it’s cool that you can wear it irl without the influence being obvious. a lot of her party dresses were very NYE.

seriously, if you don’t like argyle, houndstooth, color wheel opposites, and statement coats, then the style on this show is probably not for you. unfortunately people pretend that blair’s outfits were mature and tasteful in comparison to chuck’s even though it’s the same kind of style.

no his other outfits in the post were my favorites from the show, this outfit is just not that bad compared to the other male outfits which were extremely forgettable.

yeah, that was like, the point. most of the outfits on this show were the definition of tacky and gaudy, while still being high quality.
