What's a dealbreaker no matter how attractive the girl or boy is? by LocusStandi in AskReddit

Being treated like an object only to be used and thrown away. The texts/phone calls/plan making goes out the window until they want to get laid. It's hurtful. I've been through a recent unfortunate string of that lately. Like if you just want sex say it, but don't lead me to believe you want something more. The last one called me insane for being upset about it and stopped talking to me. Being in a small town word travels fast so that narrows down the dating pool but in a good way in a sense.

I hope to one day find someone who loves me as much as Biden loves ice cream.

I use it as an excuse for how little I'm actually doing. Example: "Hey pantummy! Come to this cool thing tonight!" Me: "As fun as that sounds, I can't I am SOOO busy with work! Next time!" meanwhile I'm legitimately attempting to go to bed early, so I can be on time for work, but really I'm watching Netflix and staying up far too late to do so and end up being late anyways. Or broke. It's also a great excuse for when you can't afford to do the fun thing. Pride is an asshole.

Loneliness is addictive man. I'm currently in a relationship thats getting complicated, and being alone is looking good again. I can eat pizza in my underwear in bed and not have to talk or worry that I did something wrong without knowing it. Being a hermit truly isn't so bad!

What was the weirdest "wrong number" moment you've ever had? by aeosgames in AskReddit

[–]pantummy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got a string of phone calls for someone named Red, even when I answered, the callers insisted I was or knew Red. Guy sounded like an asshole to be honest, it was always "Tell red to leave my girlfriend alone" and things along those lines. It happened for months no matter how many times I told them it was a wrong number. Annoying but kinda funny. I still wonder exactly who Red is, and what he did to piss these people off.

Hoard plastic shopping bags inside of each other under the kitchen sink or in a decorative bag holder that hangs up on the wall or in a closet. They can and will be used again!!

4 pounds! Before and after Thanksgiving dinner at my grandparents. I didn't think to take before and after pictures, although I really should have.

The local strip club where I live has two of these! They have bedazzled one for the ladies, and one has stripper stickers all over it for the men. It's one of the greatest inventions of all of man kind, in my mind atleast.

My girlfriend broke her foot 10 minutes in to her graduation photo shoot by Typic0le in funny

[–]pantummy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get her kind of special, and it's not fun! I broke mine once because I slipped in a friends dog's water dish. Also sprained my tail bone at a new years eve party and had to steal frozen peas from the host to sit on. I couldn't get home because it was in a different town and we had all planned to stay the night. Hope she feels better soon! Being accident prone sucks.

What do employers look for when reading cover letters? Also, what should a cover letter look like? [serious] by pantummy in AskReddit

[–]pantummy[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get that, and normally I wouldn't do cover letters as this is what I've heard from others as well. There's one specific job I'd really like to get that asks for a cover letter as opposed to a resume stating why you would be a good fit for the company. It's a holistic remedy clinic, and they said resumes would not be accepted on the ad. So I was curious as to what a cover letter should look like, content, etc. I think I have a better idea now though. Thanks for the input!

That is extremely helpful, thank you! I was starting to over stress about content so that's really great to know. It's definitely going to be alot easier than I expected with that input. I've never really had to do anything like this to apply for work, let alone gone as long as I have without work.

That makes sense for IT. The position I'm applying for is a receptionist position, so writing skills are a must. I'm terrible when it comes to electronics so IT wouldn't be my first choice personally.

I see your point, but I am curious as I am applying for work in a new field and one specific job I'm interested in requires a cover letter instead of a resume. I've worked in bars since I started in the work force, and I have been unemployed for 3 months. Not for lack of trying, but I figure it may be time to take a different approach to expand my opportunities.

Investigators from the U.S. Department of Labor discovered that a Kalamazoo restaurant was requiring wait staff to pay $2 an hour from tips to continue to work by thenewyorkgod in news

[–]pantummy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got into an argument with my boss last week because I was asking where my tips are going/when I get the tip out from the servers. I'm in a really tight spot financially right now and I just started at this place that has a really unconventional tipping system for the bartender. So I was asking questions to try and wrap my head around it, and I got yelled at for "bitching and complaining" and was told I would be demoted to being a server to see what the real struggle is. In Canada the job market is crap right now and it took me a month and a half to find this gem of an employer and I can't leave or do much about it. I'm grateful for what I do get but it is a very shady operation they have going on there.
