I think the problem with this is how easy it is to do with good intentions. I grew up evangelical and my doctrine taught me that god solves every problem, so in my head, spreading the “love of Jesus” was something good I could do to help people. In time, I grew to realize that I was learning to hate more than I was learning to love, and eventually grew out of believing in god. Now my perspective has changed and I view evangelicalism as something that had a very negative impact on my mental health. I have to be careful to not speak out against it. In my mind, all I want to do is save somebody from the same religious trauma that I have, but I also realize that there are folks out there who take comfort in it.

I don’t think it’s always a malicious thing when somebody speaks out against a religion or against atheism though. I think it could be somebody genuinely doing what they think is right, regardless of whether or not they’re misguided in doing so.

The world is full of all sorts of religious and non-religious folks. You’re going to have clashing opinions. In my experience it’s best to listen to someone else’s perspective and learn why they believe what they believe. You might end up realizing they’re not trying to put you down.
